Something is wrong with YOUR profile if the men you are attracting on your dating sites are taking at least 10 years off their age. I know several men, besides myself, that have used dating sites in the last couple of years and not a one of them lied about their age (though I did run into a few women who sliced about 5 years off their age ... but only a few).

Profiles tend to attract certain types of people depending upon how they are written ... which I have concluded is because those writing the profiles subconsciously WANT to attact that type of person, no matter that they claim otherwise (those who say "NO PLAYERS" in reality ONLY tend to date "Players" I have noticed with the many women I know ... sheesh, and they HATE IT when I pointedly ask them why they don't date the "nice" guy who I know asked them out - they usually respond with a "he's boring" comment ... and then go out with Mr. Good Looking Excitement, who then plays them, again).

You "CLAIM" to want one thing ... but in reality you are working hard to attract another type entirely.

Stop complaining about the types you attract because those are the very types your profile was written to attract.

I've been on a few dating sites for awhile and I've been very specific in my profile,but out of the last 100 responses I've gotten,only ONE knew what 'TEOTWAWKI' means!They don't even read my profile!They just look at the freaking picture!

Insomnia's right, Annie. My best friend did this and it worked. She married him. He fit all her criteria - EXCEPT -

Be VERY specific about what you want. She never considered temperament.

She wanted a "man's man" and she got it - BUT - he was quite a hot head, abusive and a control freak. I couldn't stand him and neither could her family but she stayed with him until her death.

Honestly, I think he helped cause her death because of the stress he put her through and ultimately, it was her decision to stay with him...but I do miss her.

Try it. Be very specific. Write it all down. It actually works. Just be careful with what you wish for...

Yes they work. Some of my friends have successfully made use of dating sites and got married. With the current hectic life many people don't want to take the hassle to go down town, look for a girl etc. They find it more efficient to make use of dating sites.
