The government gets away with what they do, because they do it gradually while waving the banners of patriotism and security. One day, they will make a mistake. They will go too far. Then, the sleeping lemming masses will wake up. With their world shattered, they will riot and pillage. Their anger will be vented at any semblance of authority. This will not be a pretty picture. Perhaps the government's mistake will be with the economy. We can all feel it. We all know it is coming. Perhaps the government's mistake will be yet another war. Only this time, other governments will stand up and say "hell no". We all know this is coming too. Perhaps the Earth will change in such ways that facilitate the above. We all know this is coming too. The lemmings will always be lemmings. So, when the time comes, and it will, do not fear. Instead, take charge of the situation. Do not go "quietly into the night". |

How does sitting around getting stoned change anything? Ive spent a fair chunk of my life sitting around getting high on various chemicals & while chemicals are great for changing my own perception of the world they dont offer much for the greater good of society unless we lace the water with LSD rather than fluoride. |

It seems all roads lead to anarchy, lawlessness & mass violence. Honestly i dont think whats left after that will be much better & history will repeat its self to make the same mistakes over & over again. I guess due to lack of evidence i dont have much faith in humanity as a whole when the best we have to look forwards to is mindless violence due to the sudden overturn of our "caretakers" |

I guess due to lack of evidence i dont have much faith in humanity as a whole when the best we have to look forwards to is mindless violence due to the sudden overturn of our "caretakers" You are quite right! It won't be any better, just different. If we are lucky, once people become tired of the violence, they will learn to cooperate. The lesson of this planet is this: control or cooperate. Control leads to war, violence, etc, etc, etc. Cooperation leads to harmony, respect, etc, etc. Anything that divides us is of 'control'. These things must not be allowed. For example, money divides us. Can we make a society where people can get what they need without money? I don't know. But, until we figure out how to do that, we are doomed to the 'control' vector. So, the masses must awaken, the only question is will they awaken before the violence to overthrow those that would divide us? Or, will they awaken when their world falls apart? In either case, the masses will awaken. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 502821 United States 12/26/2010 03:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have been thinking a lot recently about all the injustices that every day people suffer from at the hands of governments around the world. Lies & deception are rife while most people are totally oblivious to this fact many people here see things in a different light. Quoting: BillyXIve spent lots of time thinking about how I personally can change the world & honestly at the end of the day i just feel powerless and angry that there is nothing i can do, even as a large group of people here i dont see any ideas on how to fight the power. Most people are too busy bickering about trivial facts while others are just sitting back waiting for society to crumble beneath us thinking with that some sort of positive change will occur. How can we change the course of history & bring down the tyrants that control our life so much, is it even possible to live life in a different way or are we forever doomed to live a life of materialistic slavery? There are so many things wrong with this world & society in general, most of it comes down to money & greed. Even if we could bring down the world powers & stop all the injustice where do we go from there? I for one want change but i have no idea what sort of system could be put in place that would be fair to a majority of the world & not just a select few. Please excuse my ramblings that are all over the place & pose no real options, im just lost at what to make of this manic & depressing society. I feel that if something major does not happen soon humanity is doomed. Hello, I feel you, especially how one can change the condition though. It definitely does not feel as intended, and while it is easy to bury it away, numb it out for a while, it's still haunting. The following idea about changing oneself does feel like a key to me though. Also, it's very understandable the following may not seem to make sense from a mind perspective, and is something I have a hard time resolving myself, but do feel that it is one way to help: " How do you disempower a corrupt system? By empowering yourself. How do you awaken a sleeping population? By awakening yourself. How do you heal a toxic society? By healing yourself. " I do feel that the means to do it, to make this truthful for oneself, that is changing oneself, is the hardest thing to do. I also don't mean helping oneself like to a buffet table either (or materially), but that one must truly heal oneself and get oneself in a right state of being, to truly help others, or something like that. |
