"A woman/man convinced against their will is of the same opinion still"

so you can change water into wine, but you cant share your mormon stories...ok...that makes sense...NOT!!

enjoy your weekend...

Romulus, I didn't say that I change water into wine.......you misunderstand me! In my specific case, I am changing water into something else........which I don't think it is appropriate to go into at this time! However, the real question should be: Why aren't YOU doing it???

And yes, I CAN share my Mormon stories with you, I simply choose not to, at this time........please don't hold me at fault for that!

P.S. I don't expect you to believe me.....it's OK: But some day you will come to know that I have offered you Truth here this day!!! peace to you, as well! hf

Re: I'm callin you out Christians, you & "The Book of Man"
thanks for using a readable font this time ;-)

I personally brought a world of hurt on myself and my family when a I began questioning and criticizing the Bible. I backslid severely

since turning back to the Lord 3 years ago and taking Him at His Word things are slowly and certainly becoming much better :-) or perhaps more accurate I am getting far better equipped to deal with them

three things I have done for three years: pray every day, in fact constantly. read the Bible and ask God for wisdom and discernment (really helps!), and stay involved in accountable fellowship at our local Bible church.

out of these three a fourth thing arises -- ministry. I am actively involved in service in every arena of my life ;-) including, astoundingly enough, here on glp

there is seemingly no end to the people to pray for on here, the false doctrine to correct, and the love to show. I haven't been so gentle the past two days as usual -- really overdid the whole Christmas thing and I'm exhausted and somewhat remorseful. but it was a fun Christmas anyway :-) I know I have to pay though lol

anyway so forgive me if I wasn't gentle like I said I choose to believe the Bible. no one can take my choice from me. I fully intend to continue to believe the way I am now until I die by whatever means, or until Jesus' return which is imminent

furthermore I no longer judge the Bible but allow it to judge me ;-) works much better!
love peace and joy

"Do not look for me in a book,.... I am not there"
"Do not look for me in a place of worship,.... you won't find me"
Again those words of man tell you the same as I have said. I say again, all religious backing tells the same story as a basic. They all are reflections of the Sumerian scrolls from 7000 yrs ago, with their own timely twists to suit their needs. Each shall pass like grains through the hour glass,.... the original story told should be your best sources for exacting truths.

Re: I'm callin you out Christians, you & "The Book of Man"
[nƒ³RnªL]

The Book of Man, aka The Bible, has not one of GOD's words inside.

The Bible, accounts of men, supposedly inspired by GOD to create those scriptures, text of mere mortal men, NONE from GOD directly.
So using the bible's concept as well, GOD has inspired me to dispute the lies of MEN being portrayed as his own words. The only words GOD created were the 600+ commandments and Moses broke those on the golden calf, as the story is told.

"The Book of Man" states there are no other words of GOD ever written.
All those words are of men, not GOD.
GOD inspired me to dispute those falsehoods, of thousands of years of lies in his name.
If you believe in the Bible, aka Book of Man, and those words of inspired men of GOD, then one also must have faith in me in the same light. Your own readings are based on faith of inspired dead men,....

Use that same faith now with a live inspired man.
There are NO words of GOD in the bible, aka Book of Man, NONE. Your own Bible even tells you this,....

Re: I'm callin you out Christians, you & "The Book of Man"
Did "New Age Messiah" or DNA put you up to this? chuckle

Believe what you want and I'll believe what I want. Everyone has "FAITH" in something! For some it is their favorite ball team, for others, it's themselves. I happen to believe we will be held to account for our words and deeds one day and only those who believe in Jesus Christ will be given access to the Father in Heaven. The Bible is the only book that gives us those specific instructions and since that seems like a pretty big deal (if true and all...you know, eternal destination of your soul to either heaven or hell...that's not an insignificant detail if it happens to be true) then I am not willing to risk my soul if the "book of man" turns out to be the ACTUAL "Word of God".

All "debate" aside, I happen to KNOW it is God's inspired Word, not because some man told me so but because I have tested it and the reading of it on several occassions has SPECIFICALLY answered questions I had prayed about that only God knew I was seeking answers to. Books merely written by men don't show me direct answers to prayers that only God knows about. Answer me THAT one!

I won't argue that there are certain tampered with versions being sold today that calls ALL Bibles into question but I believe there is a "Word" settled in heaven and agreed to here on earth that God has annointed and He uses to speak to us today. The other "tainted" versions are there to incite confusion. You have to know what to be weary of and only God's Holy Spirit that He imparts to believers in Jesus Christ can discern His True Word from the "false"! (Not trying to "toot any horns" here, just stating a fact).

It really all goes down to this...if you're right, then its all good and none of us will probably know the difference as we will either just cease to exist into nothingness or we will be reincarnated, in which case our memories of past lives will be erased and we're none the wiser. But...and you know where I am going with this...if the Bible IS true, YOU'RE in "deep weeds" as they say here in the country! Unless you figure that out before your time to give an account is here!

Infernal, you are believing what someone else has told you and tried to argue and yet you come here accusing Christians of the same thing. If everyone would just stop arguing and test God for yourself, you would find that He IS in fact REAL and His Word IS inspired and directly from Him. I will tell you like I have told many fellow Christians...STOP listening to others and determine for yourself what is true! In the end, YOU will be your only defense outside of Jesus Christ!
 Quoting: ^Watcher^

To answer your question about getting specific questions answered by the bible-it's called self fulfilling prophecy.
I can take any religious or spiritual book and look for an answer to a question, and randomly get an answer to it. It's a type of divination, which can be asking a question, then opening the bible to a random page to find an answer.

Similar to how the church picked which four gospels to add to their so called holy book in 325. At the council of Niccia (SP), the bishops had about 50 or so accounts(gospels) of the life of Jesus. They placed these 50 or so gospels underneath a table, and prayed that the 4 gospels that God wanted in the bible would find there way to the top of the table. Everyone left and the doors were locked. The next morning when they came back, MT. MK. LK. and JN. were on top of the table. The only one that had a key was Constantine. So if you can believe the books got to the top of the table because of the power of God, I can see how you would be so gullible to believe the Bible to be the literal word of God.

Most Christian leaders that have had good seminary training "know" that biblically, the Jesus story as they tell it cannot be backed up by the written word of the oldest texts available. It's all word of mouth, and we all know stories never change when they're handed down................................... Right/Not.

I really enjoyed reading this post! I am sorry to get to it days later. I can see that everyone has been brought up differently and has very interesting views on God, the Bible, religion, and spirituality.

I do have a question, which will lead to other questions, and hopefully someone will share their point of view although I may be asking to late:

Do you feel the Bible was written clearly and flows together as a whole?

This isn't a faith or what do I believe question. So just pretend you are an English professor critiquing the writing style of the Bible.

God's never talked to me, so that hasn't done me much good. Everything I have examined has been through my own powers of observation.

Sometimes we don't listen,....
Other times we don't want to,....
And times we won't accept,....
Most of the time,.... we know.
When you did an unselfish deed and a rush comes over you,....
When you went out of your way to help a stranger, and they truly are thankful and you know it,....
When you merely did the right thing in a situation when needed,....
In those instances, many will feel it, and know it.
Not from a book/church/religion of man.

I always considered those things part of humanity, not divinity.

A personal story- and why i believe the expression, draw closer to god and he/she will draw closer to you.

Went thru a horrendous divorce in mid-twenties...confused,bruised,battered, young son etc...
spent copious time on my knees....

Met a nice girl in her early twenties... I was a Manager of Nightclub/restaurant...she was head waitress...

She was obviously attracted to me, but I didnt nor was i sure about her...she had a young son (2yrs)...

Before i say what im about to say, just know that I am as sound, lucid and logical a person as one would ever know.

Ok, she was walking around the restaurant and a voice in my head said, "there she is, do you want to be happy the rest of your life"?-

I was like WTH??...has never happened before or since....

Ok..gets better...so, at the time, Im going to an Episcopal church meeting in a HUGE highschool auditorium...she is attending the service with me. Im still confused as to whether SHE Is the one.... On this specific Sunday, she turns into the row of seats and i tell her to move down so there i can leave the ailse seat EMPTY...

Half way thru the service a woman comes in sits down..Had never seen this woman before..EVER.. she is paying NO attention to the service AT ALL...i watch her as she fidgets with her purse as she pulls out a (NEW) bible. She opens it. Still not paying attention to the service... She opens the bible hightlights a section and turns to me and hands me the bible with this scripture hightlighted...

Ecclesiates 4: 9-12:
Two are better than one,

because they have a good return for their work:

10 If one falls down,

his friend can help him up.

But pity the man who falls

and has no one to help him up!

11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.

But how can one keep warm alone?

12 Though one may be overpowered,

two can defend themselves.

A cord of three strands is not quickly broken

so i read it and hand it back to her, (shocked) and she gestures to give it to my soon to be wife!...so I do...
then hand it back to her, she puts it back into her purse, gets up and leaves the service....

...never saw her before nor after that experience...

Married the girl...five kids twenty five years later...BLISS!!

James 4:8

8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
 Quoting: Romulus

That's pretty deep this, shows how God can work in our lives, religion or not He is always there working somehow.
No one is perfect. A babe before walking will first stumble and fall many times but NEVER gives up until he succeeds.

Always remember, ultimately, to never follow any person's belief. Your relationship with God is between you and God.

If nothing else, remember this: religion = subservience, control and conformity, the same template as EVERY government

The Torah, first five Books, is the first Book written Alphabetically. This is what precipatated the change. :)

At sinai, thousands of graphic images were reduced to less then two dozen, the Alephbet.
