Again.... I am a believer, but let's hold up on this apple thing here. Where does it say that the apple is the "universal fruit"? I've never heard that before.

"Fruit" is an abstract concept. To actualize the concept in words or pictures, you have to pick a concrete example.

Which example would you pick?




It's pretty simple. God instructed Adam and Eve to freely eat of any tree of the garden, EXCEPT for one, as a sign of obedience to Him. I don't believe there is anything metaphorical here. I believe Eve was deceived by the spirit known as Satan, into eating a piece of fruit from a tree that God forbade.

It's not for us to know what TYPE of fruit it was, nor does it even matter at this point in time. I'm just saying that it's never mentioned as an "apple"... That's all.
