And if I see a mouse, I scream like a girl. You don't even want to know what I screamed when I found a snake in the barn. Quoting: D's PetI've lived outdoors to much for that to bother me anymore. Snakes???? No way, no how, never. I had one in the tack room (no surprise, we live in a desert, right?), and when I found it, I ran back into the house screaming "SNAKE!!! It's a f*^$*ng SNAKE!!!" over and over. And I don't usually cuss like that. I wanted to shoot it. He wouldn't let me. I was living with this guy and he had a mouse problem so I took a 7 foot black snake in the house ... problem solved! How Can You Be Two Places At Once When You're Not Anywhere at all |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 10735 United States 12/30/2010 08:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It would appear that you are you dear and that is all that matters. Quoting: ~*~gsf~*~Thank you, Nikki. Like you, I just gotta be me. And I'm not ashamed of it. Never be ashamed of who you are dear. You like me aren't "Vanilla People" so you will always draw flack. Well see that's just it...she's NOT being herself, she's being who someone else wants her to be. How do you know thats not herself? My grandmother served my grandfather in much the same way. She was 60 when he died and she never batted an eye at another man. In return he protected her and loved her and took care of her and etc and etc... he had a dominate personality she had a submissive personality...worked for almost 50 years until he died...and she went to her grave 25 years later still just as much in love with him as she was when she married him. Could I live like that? No. But I accept other women have different wants/needs. Because she wouldn't be allowed to be herself. Same for grandma. It pretty much occurs with every woman to some extent. You lose yourself once you become someone's wife and someone's mother. You just kinda fade into the background. Feminism was supposed to be about women finding themselves again. In a submissive role though, you are always who he wants you to be. Any attempts at variating from that will just bring mor oppression. So how is that you if you are never allowed to express your own thoughts, your personality, or yourself? |

User ID: 1114631 United States 12/30/2010 08:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've read through about half of this, and I just have a couple of things to say. 1. It has been said here and elsewhere that........some don't wish to hear about one's personal life on the forums. Ok.....that's fine if you feel that way, that is your preference, your choice. If you don't want to hear about it, then feel free to tell the person so. However, there is no need to brow beat them down in so doing. 2. Some here seem to take a bit of an issue with how D's chooses to live her life for various reasons, some of which I can understand. I don't always agree with everything D's puts herself through, and she knows that, as I have stated my feelings many times about certain things, and probably will again in the future. But, remember her life, her relationship, her marriage is hers to live, and no one elses. What she chooses to do, good, bad or indifferent is her choice. No one can force her to see something or choose something she isn't willing to. I may not always agree with everything she puts up with, but I defend her right to choose it. She wouldn't be free if she couldn't. That's about all I have to say. No one is perfect. A babe before walking will first stumble and fall many times but NEVER gives up until he succeeds. Always remember, ultimately, to never follow any person's belief. Your relationship with God is between you and God. If nothing else, remember this: religion = subservience, control and conformity, the same template as EVERY government "Most believers would kill truth if truth threatened their religion." L. K. Washburn "This crime called blasphemy was invented by priests for the purpose of defending doctrines not able to take care of themselves." Robert Ingersoll "If anyone wants to know how God feels, it's a warm light as if the sun is poking through dark clouds and lifting your spirits with pure joy." |
