We're lousy with DPS around these parts on a normal day... they'll be swarming tonight.

It's also a 'no refusal' weekend... which means they can cuff you & draw your blood if you refuse a breath test... no thanks.

On a regular night you can just refuse the test? Why doesnt everyone just refuse it then? PA is no refuse all the time. Sometimes they have the bloodmobile at checkpoints, if they pull you over and you refuse you go to the hospital. If you refuse there you automatically get the maximum DUI punishment....usually 6 months no driving and 5k$ fine for first offense.

Not even sober people belong on the road tonight...far too dangerous. I hope the bowling alley is close to your house.

I'm not big on big brother either...but ask someone who has lost a child to a drunk driver what they think of these stops...you may get a different perspective.

I unfortunately was talked into going to a big night out....I normally dont do anything this public on New Years or July 4th. Maybe Im too old to get myself into trouble anymore. We shall see. At least there is 2 good bands playing. Hope I dont get bedbugs.

I still dont understand how you get away with refusing the test on any night. Who wouldnt refuse it?

It's ridiculous man... they have Judges on-call & will literally stick you on the side of the road against your will.

The DPS Troopers around here will pull you over at the drop of a hat anyway... I'm staying home tonight.

In Texas up until just a coupla years ago you could refuse a breath test, but you'd automatically lose your license for a year (or two?)... they couldn't charge you with a DUI without the test.

Now they can draw your blood roadside.

If you refuse it in Wisconsin, you're automatically presumed guilty. No fancy lawyer will get you off the hook.

I'll be avoiding all the police state road blocks this evening and partying here.

yeah here in NY they have fucking scanners now on all the Cop Cars that scan your plate and your inspection sticker as you drive by. If the computer says "yo!" they do a U-turn and u get a ticket. Also the Inspection Sticker, when you get it, they hook your car up to this machine and it pulls all the data out of your computer.. ( average speed, how u shift, how you accelerate, etc etc etc etc ) and transmits it to the DMV. if your computer throws a trouble code ( check engine light on ) automatic fail and you have 15 days to fix it, at a REAL dealer ( someone who can upload to DMV that its fixed ) so you can't even just fix what ever problem it is yourself.

Thats why even my Ex Wife who doesn't know where the Oil Goes owns an OBDII scan tool. EVERYONE in NY owns a scan tool. Clear the engine codes in the parking lot when you go to get inspected..

yeah neither did Florida. Man I miss that. And I miss the roads. You know in Florida you can actually SEE the fucking LINES on the road !!! ?? Immagine that. They have little reflectors in the pavement. Of course that could never work in NY the plows would scrape them right off, but they could atleast paint the lines once in a while. NY puts all this time and energy into making sure peoples cars are in safe working order, and the roads on which they drive are complete total SHIT. half the time you don't know if your on the shoulder or in the grass or what.

My husband and I used to always do the country club dinner and dance on NYE. To hell with that. I think everyone on the highway here gets pulled over on NYE now. The cops are begging for cash.

We're smoking 2 racks of barbeque beef ribs today. Neighbors will be over later to help us clean up the mess. We'll probably be playing cards when 2011 rolls in.
