Re: Is Arkansas a reawkaening caldera?!
caleras in Arkansas?

yup!

Since there is evidence that this area is still rising in elevation, it may be the ridge to the caldera.
[link to en.wikipedia.org] "If the magma is rich in silica, the caldera is often filled in with ignimbrite, tuff, rhyolite, and other igneous rocks. Silica-rich magma does have a high viscosity, and therefore does not flow easily like basalt. As a result, gases tend to become trapped at high pressure within the magma. When the magma approaches the surface of the Earth, the rapid off-loading of overlying material causes the trapped gases to decompress rapidly, thus triggering explosive destruction of the magma and spreading volcanic ash over wide areas. There is a type of lava in explosive calderas called A'a. Further lava flows may be erupted. If volcanic activity continues the centre of the caldera may be uplifted in the form of a resurgent dome". Arkansas ranks first in production silica, producing one half of the worlds supply. [link to www.arkansas.com]

This site from USGS states that The Arkansas delta sloped west toward the mississippi river and south toward the Gulf of Mexico at a rate of 0.5 feet per mile. [link to pubs.usgs.gov]
"The land surface generally slopes toward the Mississippi River from both the eastern and western sides of the Study Unit and to the south toward the Gulf of Mexico."
So far facts show that we have a ridge, a dome-like valley sloping east, west and south, and the most silica in the world, Not to mention much of Arkansas is in a Rift valley. All of this points to the area being an explosive Caldera.

with all of the wildlife dying unexpectedly in arkansas, and clusters of quake swarms... is this in fact, a reawakening of a long dormant caldera?

arkansas being a part of the new madrid zone, infamous for a significant quake in 1856...is only one area that may be effected. that same quake, reversed the flow of the mississippi river.

will we see more activity in other areas?

on the north american continent, there are ancient fault lines reaching from northeast canada to mexico, that have long been quiet. are the smaller cluster quakes, sink holes and wildlife deaths along side these faults attributed to them?

Random thoughts:

Arkansas may well be s magnet. There reason I say this is because of all the crystal. Think of it as a giant receiver.

I don't pretend to be any kind of expert, but wonder if this has anything to do with Arkansas bird die off. Of course this won't explain any of the other places on earth, this may be happening to as well. Unless they too have high amounts of crystal.

On a slightly different note regarding Arkansas. I had a friend whose family owned 1000 acres there. He told me that the back part of the property no one ever went there. He said they became very afraid whenever they ventured to try. Wonder if there is something trying to emerge from this region of the world?

Could it be from 'Fracking' ?

no fracking way dude!

Hydraulic fracturing or fracking is a means of natural gas extraction employed in deep natural gas well drilling. Once a well is drilled, millions of gallons of water, sand and proprietary chemicals are injected, under high pressure, into a well. The pressure fractures the shale and props open fissures that enable natural gas to flow more freely out of the well.

that said;

Geologists of the Arkansas Geological Survey assured people who were in attendance at a townhall-style meeting at Guy-Perkins College that the rise in seismic activity is not due to the recent fracking done within the area.

AGS Geohazards Supervisor Scott Ausbrooks said that they don’t see any connection between hydraulic fracking and the recent earthquakes. However, the agency does not deny the possibility that the drilling of deep, saltwater wells may contribute something that they have not yet uncovered to the current seismicity in the area.

Fracking (which is also known as hydraulic fracturing) refers to the injection of chemical and sand into production wells so that natural gas could be produced. It also refers to the creation of fractures inside rocks to stimulate wells. Currently, it has been linked to (not only) earthquake issues, but other environmental and health concerns as well.

If you can find it, watch the documentary Gasland...it was on HBO a few months ago and talks about the effects of fracking on water supplies etc I think in the NEast.....it was really sickening....people were lighting their faucet water on fire....

i think it might be. i keep posting about how the redwings are ground roosters but no seems to tumble to the connection yet.
looks to me like they were violently flung out of their nests, that were on the ground.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1154424

Are you familiar with these birds at all, or are you reading crap on the internet and drawing your own conclusions? The info you posted about them amking their nests in cattails and reeds are when they are "nesting", i.e. laying eggs and hatching them in the summer. This time of year, the birds are migaratory and travel in large flocks, In Beebe, there is a particular wooded area where these birds roost....in trees, not on the ground.

Thanks for the information, however if the government says it then it is most certainly a lie. I have been at the receiving end of state and federal agents and I proved them all liars and ended their lying project.

Wanted to add something into the mix here.... Drilling of Shale that is going on in LA, TX and yes Arkansas ..

Map
[link to www.ogfj.com]

[link to www.ogfj.com]

It is also done by fracking

There are two kinds of oil and gas deposits: conventional and unconventional. The Haynesville Shale is considered an unconventional deposit by geologists because the methane gas is not located in highly porous rock formations which create easy-to-access pockets of gas (known as “conventional” deposits).
In the Haynesville Shale, the source rock in the shale has to be fractured to release the gas

Some possible causes can be automatically discounted. Though there's been a lot of natural gas drilling going on in Arkansas, industry experts insist that "fracking" didn't cause the recent tremors.

There is also disinformation coming via msm and tv shows. new theory is the fayateville shale saltwater injection in faulkner county links the fish kills to the west, earthquakes, and bird falls to the east.

bird falls in louisiana were from same migratory flock.

the fault is separate from the New Madrid fault responsible for a series of quakes in 1811-12 that caused the Mississippi River to flow backward.

it all adds up.

Re: Is Arkansas a reawkaening caldera?!
it's looking more like that to me with the recent bird thing. it seemed to be predominately redwing blackbirds and they nest on the ground.
so it seems something from the ground either threw them from their nests, killing them with some kind of impact or they bolted and were killed quickly after that.
it was all in a 1 mile radius.
from wikipedia..

The Red-winged Blackbird nests in loose colonies. The nest is built in cattails, rushes, grasses, sedge, or in alder or willow bushes. The nest is constructed entirely by the female over the course of three to six days. It is a basket of grasses, sedge, and mosses, lined with mud, and bound to surrounding grasses, or branches.[9] It is located 7.6 cm (3 in) to 4.3 m (14 ft) above water.[16]

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1192080

Well, he might be partially correct. Let's say just for fun that they were nesting on the ground, which I hear is typical of these birds but I'm not sure, and then a strong P Wave happened and that triggered the birds to become panicked and disoriented, they fly up in a panic, hitting one another, they are neurologically compromised because of the P Wave, they fly into the ground.

Now, let's say all those drum fish that are BOTTOM feeders also felt this P Wave. Like catfish do, they would jump out of the water, beaching themselves, and "suffocate." Which would explain why so many have their eyes bulging out of their heads.

Just say'en. I don't know alot about P waves but I'm learning and from what I have read so far.. this is possible. I wouldn't be near the New Madrid right now for any amount of money. BUT, I could be way off. Just a theory.

The birds dropping from the sky could have been caused by locals putting fireworks under their nesting area..the flash and boom would have caused them to fly off in a panic running into braches /trees/ each other and falling in a mass onto the ground. The fish, nothing light a bit of dynomite in the water and fish will flop to the surface. This is "redneck" land. Things like this happen often, they just normally don't make the news.

There is a line of volcanoes that goes from Cali to Ark. Arkansas is where they end. Who's to say there isn't a hot spot under there fixing to blow?

There was once a tectonic place on the coast of Cali. It was subducted. However, instead of going down, this plate has rode just under the one above it. It finally drops down in that area.

That place is ripe for an eruption.
