The significance of this date in Mayanism stems from the ending of the current baktun cycle of the Maya calendar in 2012, which many believe will create a global "consciousness shift" and the beginning of a new age. Speculation about this date can be traced to the first edition of The Maya (1966) by Michael D. Coe, in which he suggested the date of December 24, 2011, as one on which the Maya believed "Armageddon would overtake the degenerate peoples of the world and all creation." This date became the subject of speculation by Frank Waters, who devotes two chapters to its interpretation, including discussion of an astrological chart for this date and its association with Hopi prophecies in Mexico Mystique (1975). I was searching on the net for when the 12-21-12 date started being picked-up and used by all kinds of New-Agers, and came across this which mentions a "1966" publication of The Maya suggesting Dec.24th 2011....then on to Jose's 2012 year mentioned in 1975.

I think it was around the mid-90s when I first heard about 2012??

Taking a chance here, like everyone else...

I am an advanced literary student, so I am a word person. Numbers really take me out of my comfort zone. Calc and Trig about melted my brain! But, that is how I am seeing this, for obvious reasons. This is still a work in progress, and I am actually in search of others to help me better understand what I see.


My understanding is that the first people of the US were a melting pot mostly of the 10 tribes of Israel that were scattered north and then west. That is why I reference both the ancient Hebrew solar calendar and our current Gregorian. A year is a year, regardless of the solar calendar used, and I see them interchangeable for our People in studying prophecy.

Using the Hebrew solar calendar, the daylight is the second half of the 24 hour day. The next day begins with the onset of the night. The birds in Arkansas fell Friday night (December 31), which began the New Year for our People at this time.


With that stated, I would like to share that this started while I was studying the solar calendar of the Hebrews. It works like this:

The spring equinox is basically the same date every year, March 20. Once in a while it is March 21.

From March 20, count 14 days. As the sun goes down, it begins the 15th day; and it is then Passover.

That leaves 350 days for the remainder of one year. That is fulfilled, basically, by (7) jubilees (50) [7 * 50 = 350], with 7 being the number that denotes spiritual completeness. I’ll explain it like that for the sake of simplicity. 15 + 350 = 365 days, one year.



I have learned from certain scholars, and I reference their work more than any other.

The following link is the Summary of Principle Events from Appendix 50 of the Companion Bible by E.W. Bullinger, one of my most trusted Christian scholars.

Note that he dates the creation of Adam in Genesis 2 at 4004 B.C., and he figured this by the Biblical dating provided.



4004 B.C. to 2010 A.D. = [2010 - (4004)] = [2010 + 4004] = 6014 years.

That is the 6 days referenced in Scripture because one day with the LORD is as 1000 years ( II Peter 3.8), with the additional 14 years, which is (2) 7 year periods.

In solving algebraic equations, I learned that what is on both sides of an equation that are equal actually cancels it out to simplify the equation. I’m pointing this out because God is fair in love and war. What is there for good, the equal is there for bad and vice versa. This creates a balance in our world of positive and negative. It also brings about the absolute fulfillment of prophecy.



If you leave Passover out of this equation at this point, it leaves the 364 days.

364 * 6014 = 2189096


Without excluding the Passover and the extra time requiring that extra day every so often, we have 365.25 days in the year (requiring a leap year).


2189096/365.25 = 5993 (rounded)


That shows the 6000 years short by 7 years, when including the Passover for the division of current actual into the number of days calculated with the Passover excluded.


The prophecy of the tribulation is for 7 years, of which most seem familiar. There are (2) 7 year periods in the excess 14 years, so they cancel each other out, leaving the 6000 years. At the beginning of the year of our Lord 2011, according to our presently used Gregorian calendar (which is also a solar calendar), it is basically zeroed out and ready to begin the 7th day, or the Lord's Day, the Millennial reign after His Second Advent. However, there is still a tribulation period, but it has been shortened.

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. -Matthew 24.21-22



To me, the object became finding the shortened amount of time of the tribulation.


In Revelation 9, the fifth trump, we learn a time period given to the fallen star (antichrist):


And to them [locusts with power like scorpions, to sting] it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months… v.5


If the antichrist is given 5 months, remember there has to be another 5 months for the “balance” to exist.

The first 5 months of our 2011 = January - May, with the balance being June - October.

Like I stated, numbers befuddle me. I could use some help figuring this out, for real.

OP very well studied! Unfortunately I have to throw an opinion that the count of days can never be correct while using the Gregorian calendar.

The Gergorian calendar is spiritually void and used (purposely imho) to destoy and negate true magik and true understanding.

We have "leap years" (what the fuck is that????) to compensate for a known and understood falsehood in the modern Calendar. Gregory wanted to negate the natural understanding of paganism and magik and did so by dividing the people from the cycle.

It represents a breaking of synergy between humanity and evrything else, a self imposed isolation from the true understanding of what you.

We think we understand but we dont, look at a plant, without that plant (or plants in general) you die, we are symbiotic by nature, involved, meshed, bound and tied inevitably to everything else.

The greatest trick they ever played was to teach us to forget that.........without that, there is no power.

Just my opinion of course, others are entitled to theirs.

I hope you do not plan to quit your job or do anything else drastic, because the Lord will not be returning in May or anytime during 2011. Harold Camping is a false prophet and deceiver and only the Biblically ignorant believe his garbage.

This tribulation period is clearly laid out starting from Daniel 11:21 through the rest of chapters 11 & 12 of Daniel. Also, the book of Revelation lays out this final tribulation period starting in chapter 6:1 through chapter 20:3.

I understand. That is why this came to me studying the Hebrew solar calendar, and why I see this using the two calendars interchangeably.

But, a year is a year...365 days.

Even the Hebrew solar calendar allows for the excess by the equinox being on March 21 instead of the 20th every so often.
