What is your cure to get rid of the flu or to prefent it ??

Warm lemonade with a spoon of honey and shot of whiskey (or brandy)

Eucalyptus Oil

and the best for congestion

Facial Steamer (or a bowl of HOT water will also do)

Clears so much crap off chest and nose

I also use a lot of fresh fruits,and lots of extra vitamin C/D
But when the flu arives i cannot do anything for a week to make myself feel any better..

It works a charm

Stay away from people when the virus is going around in your local, just hole up for awhile,\. AVOID PEOPLE, especially in large crowds. When you go to a store, dont touch the door with your hands, nor touch anything else other people are likely to ahve touched If you observe someone who is sick, stay away from them.

That's how Ive managed to avoid getting the flu for over 20 years and it works

You may be eating other stuff, such as meat and cheese, that are not helpful to fighting off the flu. Not only should you eat more fresh fruits and juice and take vitamin C, but at the same time you should AVOID animal products such as meat and milk, and avoid greasy foods including snacks.

Indeed you are right about large crowds,but you cannot stay away from people all the time i think,i can't..
But washing your hands more often helps alot also.

When you *first* feel it coming on take VmC & D3, wash it down with wiskey/gingerale mix.

Go strait to bed. Minutes count.

keep your hands away from your face! No nose picking.. You will just put those germs straigh up in yr brain.

And when your dumbass inlaws show up DO NOT let them past the front lawn nor accept that loaner CD that has been purposefully contaminated with the nastiest flu bugs on the planet.

They will be sad to hear that you were not killed by the flu this year, but will console in the hopes of getting lucky next time around.

If you don't want to get sick then get rid of the stress in your life! When you are constantly stressing about things...or worse yet, dwelling on things that have been over with for a LONG time...then you get sick! Getting sick is your body's way of telling you to calm down and refocus. Problem is most people aren't smart enough to realize that and they switch their focus from whatever stressful situation they were dwelling on to dwelling on the fact they are sick! How many of you automatically think, "OMG! my (co-workers, kids, spouse) is sick, I'm going to get sick, too" and you dwell on/obsess over getting sick because you are surrounded by sick people? My mom, faithfully, gets a flu shot every year and still gets sick a couple times a year. She knows she is going to get sick (power of suggestion) but has convinced herself she won't get AS sick since she has gotten a flu shot. I have NEVER gotten a flu shot and haven't had the flu in 17 years.
Develop a "give a shit" attitude, let things go, and get happy then you won't have to worry about getting sick.

Without a doubt, hands down, best prevention/help get rid of it faster cure I've ever found: Cayenne pepper.

I have cayenne pepper capsules and I just take one, open it up, pour into a shot glass with warm water, stir and drink it. If my throat is sore I might gargle/let it set on the back of my throat for a few seconds.

If the heat bothers you then chase it with some lemon/lime water in the shot glass.


I do this at the first sign of a cold, and repeat 2-4 times total throughout the first day. That usually does it!

Everyone I've turned this on to tells me it works for them as well. Even my (pretty much adult now) kids who hate taking any preventative measures will ask me to make them a "shot" when they suspect a cold.

Rumor has it that docs used cayenne to successfully treat patients with the 1918 flu....don't know if that's true or not, but I know it helps me!

Honey and whiskey is good for soothing. So is redwine mixed with orange juice. Soothes the throat.

Good friend of mine is very sick right now and I have convinced him to try the onion remedy. I even talked him into putting slices in his socks on the bottom of his feet!! Will report the results !!

I am not a stress chicken,but got at least two times a year an heavy flu..The shit is my temperature,it can rise up so high..sometimes i have 40 Celcius fever or over that 40 degree Celcius...my body responds agresive to it,always have done that btw.

To get rid of it if someone gets it -

100,000 IU of Vit. A for 3 days

After 3 days switch over to -

150,000 IU of D3/day for 7 days

After 7 days back down to 10,000 IU/day.
