Aww, Opeth, that sucks :(

Our border collie did something similar, completely destroyed his cruciate ligament. It was horrible, he was a thre-legger too.

Well, the long and short of it was that at almost eleven, we almost didn't get the operation to replace it. But we just couldn't put him down, so some hefty $$, a few pins, and teflon ligaments later, he's a happy, healthy 16 year old who JUST finished his dinner :)

Never regret that decision :) Good luck with your baby.

Hiya darlin!

Dude, yeah, the age doesn't matter to me...I just want to do the best possible thing. I just do not like or particularly respect this vet. (2 in the practice, I got the dick today.) I will do the second opinion and if surgery is the BEST option for her, then that is exactly what I will do.

You warm my heart when you say your dog is 16. I would be most blessed to have all that time with my Gypsy. We lost FuChu a week after she turned 5, 3 days before my birthday, Feb 18, 2009. Horrible, horrible thing. I still get emotional ALOT because of that and it will be 2 years next month.

I have this immense love for my dogs, I cannot describe it. I've lost many close people in my life but it's just not the same. I don't do well with the animal stuff. I honestly have this mother/child bond with them and it's crazy.

IDK, just babbling. Stressed out...add cocktail

It's VERY reassuring to hear the surgery went well, especially at that age. Thank you. hug
