1994 Northridge Quake: 17 year anniversary this year on the 17th day of January

I was there! 4:31 am!! I was 7 miles from northridge. Knarly quake

I was naked. There were cracks in the walls. Uhhhh deeeeurrrr

I was living in the Antelope Valley then. It sure woke me up.

I've also read (and anyone who remembers can clarify), but the weather in the 2-4 days prior was very warm for winter, in January.

Has it NOT been unusually warm the last 2-3 days???

i was in eureka in 2010 during that quake, i thought for sure our motel was gonna just collapse...


mama earth picked up the city and dropped it...


walked around and saw lots of people helping each other, so the quake served it's purpose:)

Well, thankfully I was NOT there, but I'd surely get my ass rocked with a quake that size in Oxnard. My mom is in Northridge, so she's well prepared for the day we get another one.

I was in Glendale and I thought the fucking world was ending! My bookcase fell in front of my bedroom door, pitch black so I couldn't get out, something hit me in the head and it just wouldn't stop shaking...

I won't lie, I screamed like a little bitch.

I'm the father and developer of the weather quake theory and this next week is likely a big one in California... just by going by my theoretical numbers.

Well, thankfully I was NOT there, but I'd surely get my ass rocked with a quake that size in Oxnard. My mom is in Northridge, so she's well prepared for the day we get another one.


I *was* in Oxnard for the Northridge Quake and it was an extremely violent, disturbing quake... and I had been in 3 other 7+ mags (about 20 to 50 miles from epicenter) prior to that one, so I know what a big EQ jolt feels like.

Northridge was still the most disturbing quake I have EVER been through in my life.. even though they rated it only 6.7 or so.

felt more like a 7.8.

IT WAS AWFUL!!

Don't forget that big Japan EQ (Kobe Quake) that happened exactly one year later on Jan 17, 1995:
