Knarly quake Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1231394Well, thankfully I was NOT there, but I'd surely get my ass rocked with a quake that size in Oxnard. My mom is in Northridge, so she's well prepared for the day we get another one. :gp81: "Staring down the hole again. Hands upon my back again. Survival is my only friend. Anonymous Coward User ID: 1212154 United States 01/15/2011 06:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The day before,a saturday, there was an accident involving two pick up trucks, in downtown LA, were the two drivers started shooting at each other with semi-automatic weapons. The men moved into a federal building near by and the police started pursuing the men. I was in the buildings patio watching it all unfold until a police man told my father and I (I was about 10 yrs old) to leave the scene, lol I remember the police man's face, he was really scared. We had to run through the patio as the police men and the two suspects had their firefight. As we tried to leave we saw that the swat team had been called in. I remember my father and I waiting to watch the story on the evening news but they never did show it. We expected to see the story on the morning news for sure but the earthquake happen, doooommm!!!! |

Has it NOT been unusually warm the last 2-3 days??? :gp81: "Staring down the hole again. Hands upon my back again. Survival is my only friend. Terrified of what may come.." Quoting: gamerprincess81Has it NOT been unusually warm the last 2-3 days??? It was warm and I also remember it being foggy after the eq, mostly in the valley. But then again my memory isnt that good since I just read that the day before the eq was a sunday and not a saturday like I "remembered". Maybe I had one of those glp timeline shifts!!! |

I *was* in Oxnard for the Northridge Quake and it was an extremely violent, disturbing quake... and I had been in 3 other 7+ mags (about 20 to 50 miles from epicenter) prior to that one, so I know what a big EQ jolt feels like. Northridge was still the most disturbing quake I have EVER been through in my life.. even though they rated it only 6.7 or so. felt more like a 7.8. IT WAS AWFUL!! Well it seems so real I can see it And it seems so real I can feel it And it seems so real I can taste it And it seems so real I can hear it So why can't I touch it? So why can't I touch it? There was so much dust falling it looked like fallout. We were literally bounced up from the bed like being on a trampoline. Slept downstairs for two weeks. ..............................
