More suggestion at the scene from conspirators:

Dr. Rayle reports hearing Maisch saying to Loughner things like "how could you do this, how could you be so full of hate"? Badger also reports asking Loughner, "why would you do such a thing" or words to that effect.

There are many videos of Badger reporting his "questioning" of Loughner immediately after the shooting, though Badger admits the only reason he "knew" Loughner was the shooter is he'd been hit on the back of the head with a chair.

Rayle has 18 years of emergency room experience. Lucky he was on the scene and wasn't shot.

Statement from Giffords' intern, Hernandez:

"'I was about thirty to forty feet away, around the corner helping sign people in for the event, so I tried to rush towards where the congresswoman would be.'

'When I got to the congresswoman there were a few other people who were down so the first thing I did was to check pulses and to see if they were still breathing. I was able to check two or three people before I got to the congresswoman and I noticed the severity of her injuries. It looked like she'd been hit in the head, so she then became my top priority.'"

This man, a very stern homosexual who his clearly level headed and handy in a crisis, was thoughtful enough to check a few pulses in his mad rush to the congresswoman. Was he making sure the targets were dead?

This Littleton woman tried to knock the gun out of the hand of a guy at a school board meeting. The guy had a gun that fired blanks. In all the videos I've seen the video is cut when he collapses to the ground, shot, then there are many shots shortly after, and a team of armored police charge in and point rifles at everyone.

Assessing the effectiveness of the operation:

"In the days after the shooting, several therapists in Tucson offered free counseling for those who were traumatized.

That effort will continue in the coming weeks, said Susan Warren, a licensed professional counselor in Tucson.

She and about 50 other professionals will team up to offer free therapy to the public. Dates and locations have not been finalized."

I'm sure this army of "counselors" will be reporting upstream. All in the name of patriotism and public safety, of course. It just struck me how ironic it is this happened at "Safeway".

"'It's really important for people to know what to do and what not to do,' Warren said. 'Many people want to focus on the issue, watch it on TV over and over again, and they are really just retraumatizing themselves.'"

Again the irony is unbearable. The media pushes this shit wall-to-wall with constant sensationalism and editorial comment with very little substance and all that substance ignored in their commentary, then they cite some "the-rapist" telling everyone not to "focus on" it or "retraumatize themselves". Don't pay attention any more, it's been three weeks, nothing to see here!

This "counseling" amounts to nothing more than a campaign to debrief all possible witnesses.

This is from the arresting officer:

"Once he had Jared Loughner in handcuffs he waited for back up before searching him.

When officers arrived the deputy rolled Loughner over and discovered two magazines and a tactical knife.

He asked if he had other weapons.

'The only thing he said to me on scene was back right pocket and that's it.'

What the deputy found, 'A zip lock bag with his driver license some currency and a visa card.'

Loughner was checked out by a paramedic he was then placed in the deputy's patrol car. The accused gunman was taken to the foothills substation where Deputy Audetat stayed with the Loughner for 11 hours.

During that time lLoughner [sic] told the deputy, 'The only thing he said after that I plead the fifth he said that two or three times.'"

Loughner was laying on top of two magazines and a tactical knife. One in the gun, one in Maisch's hand, that makes four magazines.

The officer makes no mention of injuries found by the paramedics, injuries one might expect form being hit on the head with a chair. Badger has such an injury, though. He seems to have handled his arrest in an atypical fashion. Most people talk to the police. In the past he's done plenty of talking to the police. Why not now?

All this suggests he's not crazy. The prosecution is going to do their damndest to prove he's not crazy and it looks like they'll have an easy job. That's a paradox, given that everyone admits anyone who would do this is crazy, therefore Loughner must be crazy, therefore he must be sane so we can punish him. It's no wonder everyone is chasing their tail on this one.

So if he's not crazy...WHY IN THE FUCK DID HE DO IT?

The coincidence theorists have once again painted themselves into a corner with their own convoluted approximation of logic.

They're trying to have it both ways, and say, obviously Loughner is guilty because he's crazy, and he should be punished because he's clearly sane and knew exactly what he was doing, even down to pleading the fifth and researching lethal injection in anticipation of his future punishment.

Aggressive debriefing and reinforcement by "the-rapists":

"Having patients record their voice while they retell the traumatic event is among the most successful methods, Markowitz said.

After the session, the patient listens to the recording several times and returns the next week to retell the event. The process lasts 10 weeks in the trial, he said. 'It clearly works, but it can be painful,' Markowitz said."

This "doctor" is prescribing exactly what his cohort suggests is the exact WRONG thing to do, revisit the event and "retraumatize" themselves. Does this guy try to prevent PTSD or cause it?

I believe Loughner's defence will screw the pooch and he'll go to jail.

This suggestion that society would fall if this man were let out of jail is bizarre and surreal.

What's really bizarre is shortly before this I stumbled across that video again and immediately made the connection between this mass murder in Iraq and the Tucson shooting. That video showed exactly what people do when they come under sudden fire, they fall to the ground or they run like hell, there are no heroes.

Again this steady drum beat that Loughner did it, that the trial is merely a formality to determine if he should get the death penalty or not. It's been shown none of the witnesses can positively identify Loughner as the shooter, no witnesses positively report seeing the gun or any ammunition in Loughner's hand, in fact he was laying on top of two magazines and a tactical knife when he was arrested and the descriptions of the video combined with witness statements suggest quite strongly that Loughner was standing in the back of the line when the shooting started, that the shooter had been in the Safeway for at least five minutes wandering around before Louhgner even arrived.

"The Sixth Amendment guarantees all criminal defendants, no matter how apparent their guilt is, the right to present a defense. However, to do so a defendant must be legally competent. At any time in the proceedings, either defense counsel or the prosecutor can file a motion to seek a competency evaluation."

I guess it's just me and Ms. Clarke who care about the sixth amendment. Hopefully, if Loughner is truly innocent, Clarke will do her damnedest to prove Loughner was not the shooter and to point the finger where it belongs, at Zamudio. Implicating Zamudio most likely wouldn't generate charges against Zamudio, but it could get Loughner an acquittal.

Bullet to the forehead equivalent to pie in the face:

"Former Coldwater resident, Ahlam Mohsen, and co-defendant, Max Kantar, will face jury trial March 28 for hitting Michigan U.S. Senator Carl Levin in the face with a pie in Big Rapids on Aug. 21, 2010.

Both are charged with interfering with a federal officer while performing official duties and assault on a member of Congress. The charge is the same against Jared Loughner for his shooting of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords this month."
