Thought you may know a little bit of incite on this. Quoting: TrenchI think this will help you out, [link to www.calgunlaws.com] Thank you and this is what I found: With certain exceptions, a concealed handgun can legally be transported within a motor vehicle without a permit only by carrying it: 1) unloaded and 2) locked in the vehicle's trunk or in a separate locked container other than the utility or glove compartment. If the vehicle does not have a trunk, it must be carried in a locked container separate from the utility or glove compartment. Ammunition cannot be attached to the handgun in any manner. |

User ID: 1062383 United States 01/18/2011 03:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just a reminder.. Quoting: TrenchCalifornia AB 962 is scheduled to go into effect February 1, 2011. Among other regulations, AB 962 will: *Require drivers license and thumb print for purchase of ammo Wouldn't this violate the 4th amendment as the purchase of ammo doesn't give probable cause for search or seizure? "The gathering of fingerprint evidence from 'free persons' constitutes a sufficiently significant interference with individual expectations of privacy that law enforcement officials are required to demonstrate that they have probable cause, or at least an articulable suspicion, to believe that the person committed a criminal offense and that the fingerprinting will establish or negate the person's connection to the offense. See Hayes v. Florida, 470 U.S. 811, 813-18 ('85); Davis v. Mississippi, 394 U.S. 721, 726-28 ('69)." "The Fourth Amendment does not bar the fingerprinting of a properly seized person. "Fingerprinting involves none of the probing into an individual's private life and thoughts that marks an interrogation or search." See Davis v. Mississippi, 394 U.S. 721, 727 (1969). So long as the initial seizure of the person is reasonable, as in a lawful arrest, subsequent fingerprinting is permissible. It is also possible that the requirements of the Fourth Amendment could be met through "narrowly circumscribed procedures for obtaining, during the course of a criminal investigation, the fingerprints of individuals for whom there is no probable cause for arrest." See Davis v. Mississippi, supra, at 728; see also Hayes v. Florida, 470 U.S. 811 (1985)." [link to www.justice.gov] Now, as far as I know buying ammo is still NOT considered a criminal act...this is bullshit. |

You can legally open carry but the handgun must be unloaded ,while you carry the mags for it on your belt or where ever (IMO, one of the stupidest fucking gun laws i've ever heard of)..AND i have no idea where you are vacationing , maybe you intend to camp or something BUT if you decide to carry a fixed blade knife on your belt and run into a law enforcement officer, make no insinuations or inferences of any kind connecting the concept or idea of "self-defense" to the knife. It's a TOOL.And NO double edged blades.. And if you are carrying an EDC folder make sure it cant just be flicked open with a snap of the wrist, make sure it takes a firm thumb assist to open it..Just my .02 Good to know on the knife too, thanks man. |
