Certain subjects and the comments made in relation to them have far ranging implications in as far as matters of the state are concerned. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1236667 United States 01/20/2011 01:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I won't say we "need" one, but I will agree that it looks like one is coming. If the beliefs of the two sides can not be reconciled through debate and compromise then there is only one choice left. Personally, and having copious amounts of "real world" experience to reinforce my belief, I do not believe that the two sides can EVER come to terms with one another. The "Security" camp is more than willing to surrender their rights and liberties for the mere illusion of security. If it only applied to those individuals there would be no issue. The disconnect comes because they will force their system upon those who do not desire, nor agree to, a completely controlled society. The "Liberty" camp can not retain their Freedoms if the "Security" camp controls the government. The two paradigms are mutually exclusive. The "Liberty" camp, I'm pretty sure, would be more than willing to exist under an "Opt-in/Opt-out" system. (i.e. an air travel company that doesn't require porn scanner/cup checks as a travel option or a federal regulation/assistance free state or five) The likelihood of that occurring is approximately nil. This is the crux of the matter: There is no possible outcome that is both agreeable and beneficial to both entities. In order for one to exist, the other must be destroyed. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1236640False dichotomy promoted by TPTB. Secession is a third option which can satisfy both sides. . Or just get rid of the main two MSM sponsered political parties and start over. The England on the other hand does need a civil war, they have a very heavy karmic debt for all the civil wars they have stirred up the past 300 years. |

Vincent Vega User ID: 1217499 United States 01/20/2011 03:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Evidently ,as you can see ,America is becoming polarized more and more.. Do we need another civil war? Instead of it being north vs.south ,this time it will be those who value security vs. those who value liberty. What say you?
