Flooding is NOT in homeowners policy. Water damage due to a blown water heater or water pipe, maybe. Flooding is a totality of loss event that is very common. If flooding was to be part of every policy the annual costs would probably be in the $8000 range.
Quoting: tkwasnyMaybe where you live, but in flood prone areas here, insurance can be taken out against flooding. Some people had policies which will cover them, as they had made sure they were covered for it. Others thought they had made sure they were covered, only to find out now that their insurance company is playing words games with what sort of water constitutes a flood, to avoid paying out.
