(I just needed to know what this type of collar is called so I could search) I took that to a silversmith to have it copied in silver and inlaid with onyx. Can't wait! Will be a few weeks....

Actually, I think the neoprene is not good if it's going to be permanant. It kind of degrades and you never really feel it's clean.

If it's going to be taken on and off, though, it's probably fine and more comfortable long term.

As for close fit, that's actually better for long term. I find that the collar will dig into my collar bone when I'm sleeping if it has too much play.
