Russia Thinks Julian Assange Should Receive Nobel Peace Prize

Wikileaks documents revealing plans by NATO to respond militarily to Russian threats may have prompted the Russians to seek a Nobel Prize for Julian Assange. They consider revelations on Russia worth the price.

Yes you read that headline correctly – members of Russia’s government have suggested that Julian Assangewould make a good choice for the next Nobel Peace Prize. This is particularly noteworthy given the recent revelations by the Russian language version of wikileaks: that Prime Minister Putin is building a billion dollar palace on the Black Sea using funds from a well connected Russian billionaire[ii]. That tidbit came after the original Nobel Prize talk and the web site has undergone a persistent DDOS attack since posting photos of the project, so perhaps this recommendation will not continue.

Speculation on the reason for the recommendation runs towards a dig at the United States for it’s treatment of Pfc. Bradley and pressure being placed on the nations to assist in bringing wikileaks and Assange down. Wikileaks had made other revelations impacting Russia, but it quickly became evident that these were rather minor compared to revelations of how the US and NATO view Russia.......
