How this degree of sharpness was achieved baffles modern researchers. Simple take block of obsidian, shatter pick up corrct shaped piece. They use obsidian scalpels in plastic surgery all the time. This is a good example of primitive but sophisticated. Also worthy of note is that steel can be used for cars, cannons, handcuffs, space ships, bayonets, can openers, pencil sharpeners, etc etc etc. Obsidian can be used for a sharp blade and for a kind of effective sword.
