Utopian movie intros

You know those scifi 'utopian civilization' type movies where they often show a 'prologue' type of pastiche of scenes at the beginning with death and destruction, war, earthquakes, hurricanes, riot police, etc... before the movie fades into some sparkling futuristic city where everyone is wearing white jumpsuits?

Anybody notice that this prologue part is what our reality looks like now. Every time you turn on the tv or watch internet clips, it just looks like one of those movie intros.
