The cars nowadays have electric fuel pumps in the tank which use gasoline to lubricate and cool them....Don't go below a quarter tank too often unless you want an expensive repair!

Most of the stations went up to 3.09 overnight. One clerk told me to expect a 10 to 15 cent raise by Monday.

filled both my gas tanks on my truck 34 gallons yesterday, gas was $3.09 a gallon,, OUCH that really HURT!!.

that is true,, even mechanics say that if you run below a half tank that it will wear out the in take fuel pumps faster..

I just had to replace one pump in the tank,,did it myself. repair shop wanted $700 to replace it labor and parts.

The pump cost me $274 and took me 3 hrs..
