Springfield, IL (KSDK) -- More than 500 Illinois National Guard troops will be hitting the interstates to help the Illinois State Police assist stranded drivers. The soldiers will be stationed at rest stops along interstate highways, including Interstate 70. Illinois Governor Pat Quinn activated the soldiers today. [ link to www.ksdk.com]
