Indiana National Guard on Alert!!! Update - Emergency Shelter List!!!

Indianapolis — The Indiana National Guard is on alert to step in and help should any emergency arrive in the state due to winter storm. Tuesday afternoon, soldiers were mobilizing at their armories. Whether it's rescuing people or clearing downed trees, the troops are ready to go at a moment's notice.

The National Guard is one of about 12 agencies that all began coordinating Monday night through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.

Here's a list of Emergency Shelters if you can't shelter in place when the power is out.

Central: Carmel High School, 520 East Main Street, (door number 21, north side by the Natatorium entrance)

Central: John Hensel Township Government Center, 1071 N. College Avenue (no officer present at this location)

East: Clay Middle School, 5150 East 126th Street
