Why do people hate Jesus so much?

Yep.

I don't hate Jesus. I don't hate those who follow him. But I do resent those who claim to follow him but don't have the spiritual gift of wisdom to forsee the result of them trying to spread the gospel through the internet. Particularly those who's only weapon against evil is threat of hell.

I think for a follower of Jesus to have to resort to thinking that anyone who does not accept him hates him, is living in an extreme world of us and them....kinda scary

Because it is easy to hate what you don't understand. Understanding sets you free.

Logical people will reject the bible. God made us logical so we can we can learn and made us imaginative so we can disern between being together and being apart.

Science, belief and searching for something more is something that binds us, along with faith in what we believe whatever it is.

I believe in God fully and I rejected church from an early age (9 I think) due to a limiting thought and putting God in a box and only the elect will see him. I found that pharisitical.

Jesus is great at pointing out peoples errors yet many christians follow exactly what he said not to do. They also twist what he said to match how they wish to judge that day. Just look at the golden rule and that will sort everyone out, and atheists do this already. My friend is atheist and he would never harm another as he would never wish that upon himself.

I try to follow the fundamentals of Jesus and the God he promoted, not the old testament 'God'.

I believe we need to have a personal relationship with a higher being and how you interpret that is beautiful regardless of religion. Religion is fundamentally flawed so therefore the bible is, though many titbits can be taken out of it.

Love one another and don't judge....bible or not...don't be happy in anothers detriment.

How can you hate Love? because to hate Jesus that is exactly what you are doing

and even while you hate him he is showering down his love on you as if you were the most precious thing in the whole of creation
how marvelous is that?

P.S. I'm not promoting a new religion lol, just wanting to show you that you are the one making the decisions and enjoy what you can while you can. Forgive people, love people, do exciting things as long as you dont hurt another.

Just think if there was a final judgment and god asked a christian what you did to help someone and they said they tithed, helped the community and loved their family. Yet an atheist turns and says I cured cancer through science....reminds me of one of the uncorrupt parts of the bible :

"Two men went up into the temple to pray;

The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this:

‘God, I thank you, that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

But most can't even *hear* Him over the noise of His "believers". When people really see Him, for Who He is, it'll be a no-brainer. I mean, I can't live without Him, and I fully expect to "melt" into a puddle upon seeing Him - how much more so those who aren't as familiar with Him?

No, because we are not God. Jesus is God made mortal. God loves us so much he sacrificed his only son, so "whosoever receiveth him (Jesus) shall not perish, but have eternal life."

Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus is mankind's ambassader to God, and without him we are lost.

"You (children of God), however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him [God] who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of the Spirit who lives in you." Romans 8:9-11

The Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ are one in the same, and so you can not have one without the other. :)

If you want to worship and follow the teachings of Jesus that is your freedom, but to see others outside your faith as having demons living inside them, is serioulsy an extreme case of religious neurosis...

the bible you so vehemently defend and hold as Gods word, was written by a tyrannical King, James was his name and he sought to manipulate and control his subjects with not only brutality, but mental torture as well.

there are many honest answers to this question.

one is that many people hate themselves and do not like anything which teaches themselves to be moral, honest and kind.

that is one of the truths which will bring out the insanity of many here

this is one of true answers. Everyone has at least an association with demons due to the frailty of the minds of men. ..but those that hate Jesus are those that have decided to bed down with the demons...

they are easy to recognize. They are vicious, they deny responsibility, they are flagrantly immoral.

Interesting question, because if you can't hate something that doesn't exist, and there is hate towards Jesus, then Jesus does exist.

He exposed and decried self-reliance, self righteousness, Godlessness, lack of compassion, hypocrisy, selfishness, unbelief, etc

those who don't believe in God and rely on themselves, their knowledge, their riches, their education, etc are offended by His simple proclamations. the way Jesus said we ought live is actually quite impossible in this flesh. we only need believe on Him and do our best to submit. if course we mostly fail in this flesh and we are held in contempt and mocked.

just as He was.

the good news is, the moment we believe in Jesus, that He died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the grave on the third day to provide us the free gift of eternal life, we become righteous holy and perfect in Him -- not in this flesh -- but rather we are sealed with His Holy Spirit as a guarantee.

we don't become good people in this flesh. we become perfect people in the Spirit. unbelievers dont have the Holy Spirit and cannot comprehend the depth and riches of being born again. they look only to the flesh. believers have a witness -- our Spirit confirms with the Holy Spirit we belong to the Lord.

our hope lies in the next world. not here. we are ambassadors for Christ here :-)

Yes he did at one point, in analogy. Which is a little disturbing. But if he did in fact die for them too I'd give him a pass on that wouldn't you?

lol yes they do... and he was a carpenter. He was probably really buff and normal looking.

Some bible thumpers do that's for sure. But I wouldn't call everyone who preaches a bible thumper and I don't agree that people don't hate him. People say horrible things about him.

I don't quite get the part in bold above. Would you please elaborate?
