How not to shoot someone. 99.9% of the time, a gun fired straight up into the sky will prevent an attack from anyone. Quoting: GabrielYou're responsible for every bullet that leaves your gun. Where's that bullet fired into the sky going to land? you do know that the actual bullet is the tip of the shell and is no bigger than a pea. If it falls back on your head you will wonder if bird just pooped on you. No serious firearms instructor will ever counsel you to fire into the air. In fact, they will tell you that if you have time to fire a warning shot at all, you're probably not legally justified to shoot at all. Holy shit Gabriel you are fucking dumb I am sorry, I should have realized that when you recommended a 9mm. If a bullet comes back down from the sky you will think a bird pooped on you? You need to go back to high school and take basic physics. By the way Evil Twin. The .45 ACP is technically obsolete. .460 Rowland all the way. Just need to get people to adopt. |

I'm going to buy it next week. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1213083Find your state on the list here and click it... [link to www.armslist.com] Buy from a private party (which is legal in most states) and the government will not know that you own it. It is generally cheaper to buy from a private party + you can avoid the round ups that the government will eventually do, starting with the people who will resist the most = gun owners. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1250848 United States 02/07/2011 11:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Okay i'll start. My recommended Hand Gun would be a 9mm for several reasons. The most important reason is the availability of the Ammo if all hell broke lose in the world. Quoting: GabrielPope John Paul at 60+ years old took 4 - 9mm bullets and lived. I recommend .40 cal = hydrostatic shock. |

I wanted to get the GEN 4 glock. It was a S&W. I get confused about that, it could be a Glock, but a Smith & Wesson glock? Although Glock is also a manufacturer? Sorry, I'm a noob. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1258175Anyway...what do you think? Smith & Wesson, and Glock are competing manufactures. If anyone knows differently, please post. .40 Cal and 9mm are very similar. It comes down to ammo availability for me. .40 cal has a slightly bigger kick. Pick a gun that feels comfortable in your hand and then try it out in the firing range to see it you like it. Be sure to take a lesson please. |

I went to a shooting range and shot a .40 and some other ones, along with an assault rifle, AR 15 I believe. I did like the .40 and my friend said it has better stopping power than a 9mm. The Gen 4 has a slightly slimmer grip apparently so that would fit me perfect I think. If I want to get a Gun legally in my State I have to take a class, so yeah lessons for sure. |
