Buy from a private party (which is legal in most states) and the government will not know that you own it. It is generally cheaper to buy from a private party + you can avoid the round ups that the government will eventually do, starting with the people who will resist the most = gun owners.

A lot of 20ga actually kick harder than 12ga due to them usually being built lighter and not able to soak up the recoil as well.

.40 Cal and 9mm are very similar. It comes down to ammo availability for me. .40 cal has a slightly bigger kick. Pick a gun that feels comfortable in your hand and then try it out in the firing range to see it you like it. Be sure to take a lesson please.

Buy a 12 gauge and attach a good recoil pad. If you want to STOP an intruder and your life depends on it...always use a 12 gauge with "00" buck shot!!! If you want less kick, buy the low recoil shells in addition to a good recoil pad.

The S&W on a Glock (or any other manufacture) means that it uses .40 caliber S&W ammo.

Smith & Wesson designed that particular ammo...therefore, all .40 cal ammo is called .40 cal S&W ammo due to US Patents that S&W owns on the .40 cal ammo.

I was being sarcastic. Have you ever heard of someone getting hurt from a bullet falling from he sky? I haven't but i don't get out much lol. I recommended a 9mm for first time buyers. Would you want someone who never trained or shot a gun to go out for the first time and buy a .460 Rowland??? Anyway, thanks for the imput.

I'm a gun freak and I'll give you some advice. 1911, it's an all metal gun that, if you get a A-1, is a .45 cal. The ammo is most common there is. You can't go wrong with a revolver either.

The best assault rifle ever made and the bullets are easy to get. You can trudge that thing through the mud, freeze it, soak it, and it'll still do the job. I don't have a AK but I do have an AR-15 and I love the .223 ammo!

See that's what I was confused about, I know they are different manufacturers...I saw it in a magazine, maybe I just read it wrong?

I went to a shooting range and shot a .40 and some other ones, along with an assault rifle, AR 15 I believe. I did like the .40 and my friend said it has better stopping power than a 9mm. The Gen 4 has a slightly slimmer grip apparently so that would fit me perfect I think.

If I want to get a Gun legally in my State I have to take a class, so yeah lessons for sure.

You can build a AR-15 now for 500 all day long.

The AK though is and will always be the best and most reliable assault weapon ever developed.Pretty dam good for a gun made in 1947.

Also...buy a Draco AK-47 - it is the legal pistol version of the AK-47. Nothing beats a pistol with a 40 round magazine :--))
