Why are posts being deleted?

I was just reading a post by a member who was expressing their feelings about recent events. I really wanted to read that thread and when I clicked to refresh - I got this:

"Sorry. That message is no longer in the database."

Dang it!? I was hoping to offer some help, or comfort - a change of perspective...anything to help the poster be able to express how they feel and find the tools to move to a different paradigm.

Gosh :( Can't you trust us to vent and debate about a site we love so much and find so frustrating at times for many different reasons whether it be from the constant bashing of trolls to the crap of every day life?

I fear that constant censorship and the inability for members to openly discuss site issues that affect us all is only going to lead to further animosity with no hope of healing and moving forward as a community. We are a community of like minded thinkers even when we disagree.

That's why I come here.

Sometimes anger is best confronted with a patient, listening ear rather than abrupt silence.
