We've all heard about the kinds of doom that may loom on the horizon - asteroids, earthquakes, massive floods, financial collapse, super solar flares, alien invasion, etc. But I haven't seen anyone discuss the absolute *WORST DOOM IMAGINABLE. What, you ask, could that possibly be, what with all the dire possibilities shared here at GLP on practically a daily basis? IMHO, the WORST POSSIBLE DOOM* is that . . . *NOTHING* will happen!! Of course, there will be the storms, tornadoes, earthquakes, and all other kinds of local doom that show up every year. But truly *MAJOR DOOM, the kind that changes EVERYTHING, might not happen at all, for hundreds, or even thousands, of years. The crap that is going on now in governments and societies around the world will continue, unabated, ad nauseum*. Can you think of a worse doom scenario than that? If so, share here, please!! Slow suffocation from all the oxygen being removed from the planet would be worse. Being eaten alive by giant spiders would definitely be worse.

If I read you correctly, you are essentially saying that, while we may not be at peak Doom, the times we live in are tumultuous enough. If we continue with the status quo and things degrade, as opposed to getting better, then we are just not maximizing on current Doom. For those that might take the time, I have a good experiment for them. Take the GLP experience, as a whole, and watch "Vanilla Sky" using GLP as a topological metaphor. It's a mind-bender.

I'd wager that no one wants NEGATIVE change, so that would mean that people are hoping that when real DOOM sets in, the change that occurs will be a change for the BETTER. If not, why wish for DOOM? But what if NO DOOM happens, except for local doom? Then change on a worldwide basis does not take place, and the same crap, that we all are constrained by, continues. REAL DOOM involves pain, bloodshed, stress, horrible experiences, etc. So, do we really want REAL DOOM? Or if it doesn't come, are we OK with it? For the record, I have had DOOM dreams (I have regular out of body experiences) and I have seen REAL DOOM coming, but I also know that the timelines (really changelines) are not static, but dynamic, so that means that they are not fixed, so I dare not depend upon those visions. I realize that, perhaps, we will be stuck with the same crap we've had to deal with for the last 50 to 100 years already. I do want to see GENUINE DOOM!!
