Hey if there are any avation buffs here, we can discuss. I love flying. He was about to live my dream.

Cool, what did he get sick from?

He has glioblastoma. A killer brain tumor. He has had his head cut on so much it is like one big metal plate. It was gone for awhile, but yesterday we found out that it came back.

Indeed he was lucky for awhile.

Seems ouchy. He is brave and tough to have his head cut on like that. Toughness has carried me through a lot and allowed me to survive. I will say a prayer for him. Push him to fight hard and never give up. Like in survival training they put him through. I will say a prayer for him.

My husband would talk your leg off about flying. He used to fly and I hear about it 24/7. lol

Sadly he has fought this like a ground pounding marine. But he is losing the use of his left arm, and his sight is getting bad. Oh yeah, he fights like a trooper. My dad is my hero, but my son may replace him.

OP: Yup! His favorite coffee cup has a picture of a plane and clouds. If it ever breaks he will probably never drink coffee again. I think if he could sleep with it he would.

Yep those things can land almost anywhere with a hasty air field provided. You ought to see one take off under full power. Hell most cessna 172's can't take of that short. Then once in the air they start cranking them like they are freaking fighters. But one needs to cover their ears. LOLZ

Thank you. I never got to fly with him. Well I have a cert. and I took him up a few times in a small cessna. But he lived my dream for awhile.

Yep I flew a bit when I was young. I dreamed of getting my commercial certs. But I never did. Twice a year with a buddy of mine we rent a Cessna 172, and putt around for an hour, and then take it back. Gees av gas is outrageous. Hell the rent time is cheap. The gas is what kills ya.

I fly RC models. I know that is a big step down, but he would be suprised at the ammount of guys just like him there. Loads of fun.

Yeah, look I couldn't care about planes when I read about your son...My oldest will be 18 soon...

However, if I were in your shoes, I'd enjoy together the thing you two care about the most: Each other and flying/planes...go to every museum, air show, oh small airports are a lot of fun too...go do it all! Travel out of town to see them...take the time to do it. There is something special about one on one time with your kids, out of town, going to see or do something special that makes it magical...
