It does need a two thirds majority vote, and they did not get that. But again, it appears that Rep Lee was forced to resign. In effect, they made an example of him to force the Tea Party to "tow the line". It is suspicious that all but two of the Tea Party crew became turncoats and voted for the bill, two days after voting against, and ONE day after Lee resigned. |

They can, and do, promise you the world. Promise you everything you want to hear to get into office. Once in office they do as they like. And the people can't do shyt about it till election time. And by then, the damage is already done. System is broke, need new system. That, or abide by our right to revolt, and abolish the form of government we have now and recreate it making it better. Which if you ask me I'd keep the laws the way they are now, throw out any and all unconstitutional laws, and throw in a rule that states any elected official who does anything unconstitutional will immediately be held accountable and taken out of office. No waiting for an election. Attempt to pass legislation that limits the 1st, 2nd or any of our amendments, and be deemed having committed a crime against the Constitution and the American people and swiftly be removed out of office. We can have a separate police division unit to handle just this sort of thing. Throw in a system like that where the elected officials are afraid of their actions being illegal in how they legislate, and I assure you this Country will turn around for the better faster then the fat man who sat down to fast. |
