Water!! Supplies are useless without potable water.

Even though we have a well we are also stocking bottled water from it (close to a three-month supply for drinking so far) and will be purchasing a hand-pump for getting the water if TSHF and the electrical mains are out.

What ever I am not going to play this pissing game with you I got better things to do.Fact is most folks I know realize if you are going to talk the talk then be prepared to walk the walk otherwise you credibility is lost.Perhaps you don't feel the same I really don't care.

We had a minor EQ here in December 2003 and a freind's well collapsed; she said it cost over $12,000 USD to redrill it.

We are blessed with an awesome well at my home--a bottled spring water company less than a mile through the woods from me draws upon the same water as I and sells it to the entire city of Richmond. Two years ago my neighbors had their pool filled by water trucked in and it required about 17,000 gallons at a cost of $1,800. Unacceptable! That year I converted my residential water system into an agricultural irrigation system.

The next year I told my neighbors to fill their pool from my well. One day after he filled it the pool liner torn free around the top of the pool and all the water dumped in seconds into his yard. In the meantime I was locating and repairing structural leaks in my 55,000 gallon pool, which had to be filled to locate them then drained for the repairs and refilled for use. After ordering and receiving a new pool liner, my neighbor again refilled his pool from my well and I continued filling mine. A total of 144,000 gallons of fresh water were pulled from my well in a two week period to fill both of our pools.

I have actually considered a purchase of a hard cover for the pool--When TSHF I would have a 55,000 gallon 'water tank' and no its not gross or dirty water--its cleaner than what is supplied to homes on the county water system which pulls water from the James River.
