The only real guitar players out there are those that 'move the listeners emotions via 'talking thru the guitar.. and of course the average quite good player I suppose.
Slash is good, but certainly very over-rated, just like Clapton is over-rated.. or those show off Americans who yes! are very good.. but just don't hit the note.. except Eddie Van Halen 'did' come through with great talent in the end.

My faves are Dave Gilmour, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Kossoff, Rory Gallagher & yeah.. there's many others of course.
Slash is allright.. but he doesn't do it for me in a big way. I'm hoping when I go to see Roger Waters perform The Wall at the London 02 Arena.. Gilmour will turn up & play. Can't wait! After watching some youtube vids of The Wall.. the guitarist is actually very good.. hitting it note for note.. tho' doesn't have that 'twangpingg' Gilmour signature. Saw Eric Clapton with Roger Waters at Earls Court in London.. & I couldn't believe how fucking shit he was. I was itching for Roger to sack Eric on stage & ask one of us in the audience can we do any better.. lol. It was just.. embarressing!!
