Slash is one of a kind, his thing is the basic blues scale, he has a lot of chromatic tricks, which make it sound kind of slippery. I will tell you this, no one has his sound, his tone, he made his own style, much like the greats do. While you might think he sucks, he belongs with the greats.

Omar from mars isn't even near slashes level, if Omar is so good why did frushcanti (sp) play abunch of solos on a few mars records? I like MV, a ton, but I think Omar would admit he isn't a guitar god, he's into the writing end more than becoming a guitar god.

Clapton, dime, Hendrix, EVH (he single handedly shaped 80's) zakk wylde, Rhodes, slash, Jeff beck, jimmy page, iommi, are all guitar gods. The reason is they all have thier own sound, style, tone. You hear these guys on and you can't say "oh, Zakk sounds like robin trower, or John sykes". Well zakk might have a bit of both those guys, he still sounds like zakk. (this won't make sense unless you play guitar)
