WTF $2.49 for a head of iceberg lettuce

Dude. You will consider that a HUGE bargin in about a month.

The largest distributor of produce to the grocery stores is having to pay 5 times what they were paying a month ago due to crops killed by cold. They are cancelling the stores existing contracts under the "act of god" clause so that they can start charging them 5 times more to reflect their cost.

American Market near my house:

$1.99 oranges.
$1.19 parsley.
$4.99lb chicken breast.



Asian market near my house:

$.25 oranges.
$.33 parsley.
$1.89 chicken breast.


The quality is the same or better than American markets.

4$ for iceberg lettuce here.

why dont you people learn to put down your locations along with your claims.

everyone needs to til up their backyard and plant a vegetable garden......become as self-sufficient as possible....then you will survive all the price hikes.

this is all going to end very badly for the present
administration......shame on those who support the muslim

A few months ago they make a law that people cant sell veggies, and then once the law passes, food prices skyrocket.

Looks like the big Agriculture guys will make a killing!!

When I was growing up you couldn't even buy lettuce in the WINTER time.

Heard about this here in California. Prices are always high here, but salad bars here are "missing" veggies, have signs up saying the crop freeze in Mexico will cause them to not have certain items for awhile. Prices and availability are changing daily round here....

I'm a constitutional vegan (I eat according to my genetics/physiology, and NO I am not a freak) so bell peppers and tomatoes are about 1/3 of my very restrictive diet...I watch them carefully. This way of eating has actually saved my life and cleared my system of the toxic hitchhikers "they" add into the American diet...I'm dairy, meat, soy, wheat ,sugar, and caffeine free to name a few things. I hate it, but love it all at once. I'm not being pious like the rest of those vegans, I was a meat eating, sugar craving, donut munching girl just like everyone else. It's been a hard year doing this, but you wouldn't believe the transformation-not only physically, but mentally. Look into it! You'll never be sick or on medications from a doctor again!

I suppose that when all hell really breaks loose, I'll have to eat whatever I can find, so until the apocalypse I'm going to stick with it....
