Looks like sand bags for some points east of the Mississippi! I'm delaying transplanting of the Broccoli, Cauliflower, and Artichokes until AFTER this event. 2-4" predicted here. Looks like sandbags won't help on the WEST BANK of the MS today. Today there's already Flood Warnings, and this new system may put it way "over the top". |

Quoting: Doominator 162364I didn't want to say it, but you are right. This weekend and mid week are sure to put the rivers even further over their banks. I have never seen that much red on the map before, or at least I can't remember. [link to water.weather.gov] Check out the river levels throughout. We don't need anymore rain, definitely not a deluge. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. I have never seen that huge red area before. I seriously think sandbagging should start now. I guess that would be creating panic though huh. All truth passes through three stages. Looks like sand bags for some points east of the Mississippi! Agreed on all points. The Ohio River here is well beyond it's banks, swallowing up the corn fields, as far as the eye can see. Along with that, three tornadoes early Monday morning and there's nothing normal about that. Combine, the unusually high amounts of snow north of us, that have just melted in the last few weeks and ... well, it's all a recipe for disaster. All truth passes through three stages. Looks like sand bags for some points east of the Mississippi! It's times like these when I'm glad to be living 300 ft. above the MS River's 100-year flood plane. Quoting: Doominator 162364I hear that. I don't think I am above any flood plain. I haven't lived here long enough to figure it out. I guess now is the time to go look that up. However, I do know that between this huge river (Ohio) a few miles from me and the Wabash and New Madrid fault zones, things don't feel comfortable. Word is now, three inches this weekend and next weeks storm looks much more impressive. There is no place for this water to go. I am serious. ::::Inserting smiley that has me elevated firmly with no chance of falling objects. Do we have one of those?:::: All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed.
