Just checked Unisys Weather for rain possibly snow coming in this weekend for the Ohio Valley. Looked a little further into next week and Good Lord. Check out the huge red blob on the map!

I'm delaying transplanting of the Broccoli, Cauliflower, and Artichokes until AFTER this event. 2-4" predicted here. Looks like sandbags won't help on the WEST BANK of the MS today. Today there's already Flood Warnings, and this new system may put it way "over the top".

I didn't want to say it, but you are right. This weekend and mid week are sure to put the rivers even further over their banks. I have never seen that much red on the map before, or at least I can't remember.

Check out the river levels throughout. We don't need anymore rain, definitely not a deluge.

I know. I have never seen that huge red area before. I seriously think sandbagging should start now. I guess that would be creating panic though huh.

This warm front today will bring wet Gulf air towards the projected area, meeting a cold front. And, with temps here running 5-10 degrees over what's predicted lately (gonna be near 80 today just S of Memphis), this is gonna be a very serious flood event.

Also, with the almost unprecedented huge, wet snowpack in the Dakotas and Wisc, record flooding is expected when the spring fall starts. If it's not tornadoes it's this. Damn!

Re: Look at that rain, just look at it! Looks like sand bags for some points east of the Mississippi!
Agreed on all points. The Ohio River here is well beyond it's banks, swallowing up the corn fields, as far as the eye can see. Along with that, three tornadoes early Monday morning and there's nothing normal about that. Combine, the unusually high amounts of snow north of us, that have just melted in the last few weeks and ... well, it's all a recipe for disaster.

It's times like these when I'm glad to be living 300 ft. above the MS River's 100-year flood plane.

I hear that. I don't think I am above any flood plain. I haven't lived here long enough to figure it out. I guess now is the time to go look that up. However, I do know that between this huge river (Ohio) a few miles from me and the Wabash and New Madrid fault zones, things don't feel comfortable.

Word is now, three inches this weekend and next weeks storm looks much more impressive. There is no place for this water to go. I am serious.

Unisys has turned down the red to goldenrod, the GLP effect perhaps. We'll see.

Southern winds are blowing now and I can smell the rain. The first installment of the storms mentioned in original post.

Mississippi Flood warnings are up between TN and AR.

Flash flood warnings up for West TN Counties. It looks like a lot of rain and snow melt are going to make life fun for a while.

How is it now since our weekend rain? More on 'tap' for Wednesday. 'They' have not changed their mind, another deluge.
