SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily)

LONG-DURATION SOLAR FLARE: Growing sunspot AR3032 exploded on June 13th (0407 UT), producing an M3-class solar flare that lasted more than 3 hours. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the slow-motion blast:

Extreme ultraviolet radiation from the flare caused a shortwave radio blackout over Japan and southeast Asia, affecting frequencies below 30 MHz. Also, the explosion probably hurled a CME into space. The US Air Force detected a Type II solar radio burst, which is usually caused by shock waves in the leading edge of a CME. Confirmation awaits fresh data from SOHO coronagraphs Stay tuned.

Long Duration Eruption + CME

A long duration eruption (LDE) measuring M3.4 was detected around AR 3030 and newly assigned AR 3032 beginning at approximately 03:00 UTC (Jun 13). The event generated a noteworthy coronal mass ejection (CME) that appears to be headed mostly to the east and away from Earth. More details on this later today.

God bless all of you for your spiritual and moral support! I feel doubly blessed. I'm confident that things are going to fall into place in time. I'm just looking at a potentially bumpy transition period, but this is all going in the right direction. Time will tell.

Lucky for us this flare was NOT directly earth facing
though spaceweather dot com is saying earth may get a
"glancing blow" of solar storm activity on the 15th
(that's Wednesday coming up.)

Still made me and my spouse pretty miserable and we
spent all night up with our "physical symptoms" we didn't
even need to look at the solar news to KNOW what was going
on. When you finally figure out you are a "solar sensitive"
then reports come from your own body not the internet!

Here is a stunning video from "NEMESIS MATURITY"
with yesterday's JAW-DROPPING solar eruption in full
color coming off the East limb. Nemesis Maturity is
calling for an "alert" for geo-magnetic storm conditions
(which we have already established on the solar thread
MAY cause some "solar-sensitive" folks to have physical
discomfort at various levels.)

Nemesis Maturity Youtube Channel--I check
his stuff every day.

Checking the "time stamp" in UTC TIME you can do the
math (just subtract 6 hours to get approximate EST for
the event)...this one started around midnight East Coast
time and went thru to around 3:00 A.M. the night of 4-12
or the early A.M. of 4-13 (correct me if I did it wrong!)
So...this wouldn't have effected "solar sensitivies" during
DAYLIGHT HOURS most folks are asleep at that time of day.

Just thought to post this funny picture I actually used
for one of our recent "Caption Contests" (the next one is
coming up for July 4th--so mark your calendar!) It shows
a cat trying to "hang on for dear life" as something is
going on in his world that is causing him/her some problem!



I have "dizzy-spells" with some of the more extreme
solar weather--thought this picture really says it all!
I'm definitely "spinning" today!

GET THE SOUTHPARK NIPPLE-OPULOUS SCENE UP HERE TO MATCH THIS!!

We got hit with a CME overnight.

I got a space weather text alert at 12:35am (Eastern) saying:

A coronal mass ejection (CME) is approaching Earth. Impact could occur in the next 20 to 30 minutes.

Then at 1:30am I got another text that said:

SOLAR WIND ALERT: The solar wind is blowing faster than 600 km/s (610 km/s). A moderate solar wind storm is in progress.
