I think she popped in once around November or maybe that’s was on social media.

WEAK IMPACT: As expected, a coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth's magnetic field during the early hours of Feb. 24th (~0430 UT). It was a weak impact. The CME was not heading directly for Earth, and it delivered only a glancing blow. Neither geomagnetic storms nor strong auroras were observed after the CME's arrival.

DYNAMIC SUNSPOT: Sunspot group AR2804 is putting on a show. This morning, the group developed a Moon-sized spot, which raced across almost 50,000 km of solar "terrain" in a matter of hours. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the action:

Sunspot dynamics like this are a sign of instability. The magnetic field of AR2804 is quickly rearranging itself, a tumult that could lead to criss-crosses and explosive reconnection. The sunspot is crackling with minor B-class solar flares; stronger eruptions might be in the offing.

AR2805 is decaying but 2804 has produced more than 20 B-flares and continues to grow. It's nice to see the X-ray background levels at B1--some C-flares may be in the offing.....

I found it interesting that a spotless region of magnetism coming behind 2804 has a reversed polarity (mid-disk north). Is this a remnant of Cycle 24 ?? Hard to believe at this late date.

SUNSPOT DOUBLES IN SIZE: Northern sunspot AR2804 has doubled in size since yesterday. It is now an easy target for backyard solar telescopes and a growing threat for Earth-directed solar flares.

Yes, AR2804 looks much bigger now. It's been much quieter but I wouldn't rule out an M-flare at some point. In a few days it will on the far side.

Solar activity was very low. Multiple low level B-class flares were
observed from Region 2804 (N18W46, Dsi/beta). Slight decay was observed
in the intermediate spots of the region. Region 2805 (S22W41, Axx/alpha)
continued to decay over the period. No Earth-directed CMEs were
observed.

Solar activity is expected to be at very low levels, with a chance for
C-class flaring on 26-28 Feb.

Big coronal hole turning geoeffective in a few days (Mar.2nd?). May have a strong impact as we near the Spring Equinox (aurora season).

When I went to look at the sunspot there was no spot....weird.

The sun is always very mystifying to me.

This spotless LDE may actually have launched a CME to boot.

A nice solar prominence spanning the equivalent distance of at least 20 planet Earths across is currently located off the southwest limb. Something to keep an eye on over the next several hours.
