SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily)

GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH (G1-CLASS): Minor G1-class geomagnetic storms are possible on April 6th and 7th when at least one CME is expected to graze Earth's magnetic field. There might even be two strikes. A pair of CMEs left the sun over the weekend, one propelled by a solar flare (M4-class), the other by an exploding magnetic filament. Neither CME is heading directly for Earth, but both could deliver glancing blows beginning midday on April 6th.

SOLAR CYCLE UPDATE: New sunspot counts from NOAA confirm that Solar Cycle 25 is racing ahead of the official forecast--and the gap is growing:

Sunspot counts have now exceeded predictions for 18 straight months. The monthly value at the end of March was more than twice the forecast, and the highest in nearly 7 years.

The "official forecast" comes from the Solar Cycle Prediction Panel, a group of scientists representing NOAA, NASA and International Space Environmental Services (ISES). The Panel predicted that Solar Cycle 25 would peak in July 2025 as a relatively weak cycle, similar in magnitude to its predecessor Solar Cycle 24. Instead, Solar Cycle 25 is shaping up to be stronger.

In March 2022, the sun produced 146 solar flares, including one X-flare and 13 M-flares. Auroras were sighted as far south as Colorado (+38N) and Nebraska (+42N). Multiple shortwave radio blackouts disrupted communications on ships at sea and airplanes flying over the poles. If current trends continue, April will be even busier. Stay tuned.

MAGNETIC FILAMENTS ON THE SUN: Sunspots aren't the only things on the sun that explode. So do filaments of magnetism. There are three of them on the sun today, circled in this photo from Eduardo Schaberger Poupeau of Rafaela, Argentina:

Magnetic filaments are plasma-filled tubes of magnetism that meander through the sun's atmosphere. They easily become unstable and erupt, hurling fragments of themselves into space. A CME from just such an eruption is due to graze Earth's magnetic field on April 6th.

Yes...and boy! We are really feeling it! Here is the
roll-out (again) of the "SPACE-WEATHER-PHYSICAL-SYMPTOMS-CHART"
from Ben Davidson at Suspicious Observers. You can see
the 1-9 levels of EXTREMES in the geomagnetics (they follow
the KP Index...if you know what that is.)



I've posted this before on the thread...but I just realized
why my spouse, friends and I seem to feel the more "extreme
physical symptoms" of these geomagnetic storms--2 THINGS
that may increase the more negative physical symptoms:

2 THINGS WHICH MAY ENHANCE GEOMAGNETIC SPACE-ILLNESS:

1. Elevation. If your location on the planet is ABOVE
3,000 FT. above sea level, chances are you are going to
feel the "higher-end" effects of the spaceweather symptoms
while others (say, on the beach at sea level) will NOT FEEL
SIMILAR EFFECTS.

2. PROXIMITY TO MAJOR GEOPHYSICAL FAULTS

My location is BOTH above 3,500 feet as well as within
a football field's length to the major fault line which
runs through my state (Montana.) It is well documented NOW
that these geostorms cause earthquake activity to rise
and hence the "exotic energies" which come up through
the faults.

Keep those 2 in mind when you are discussing the strange
physical symptoms you may experience if YOUR LOCATION
includes those 2 things...and you are speaking to someone
(NOT feeling the symptoms) at sea level. You will understand
why your reports fall on "deaf ears!"

Has NOAA been hacked? Or was there a blizzard, wildfire, avalanche or an asteroid impact nearby???

Data from GOES sats, DSCVR spacecraft and even the Boulder magnetometer has frozen at around 19:30z--it's now 22:30z. I've never seen this happen before.

Only ACE seems to show some data past that time.

And no, it wasn't me, LOL. Just wondering if Yellowstone exploded or something....somebody's gotta have some info about this.

Weird situation here. I was wrong about ACE, that data also stopped at 19:27z. I checked on the NOAA Satellite Operations Office and no major problems have mentioned there. Someone might want to check with the weather-tards to see if this also affects realtime weather imagery also.

My guess is that some kind of computer server problem at NOAA. This could be in Boulder or the DC area, I've no idea. This could be a false-flag doomsday drill or somebody tripped over a cable plug at HQ's. Could be the anticipated fake alien invasion or President Kim's threatened EMP attack....everybody stay safe.

Probably a stupid computer glitch, but these critical systems should have robust back-ups for emergencies.

Space Weather Prediction Center's Forecast Discussion failed to update, which happens like clockwork every 12 hours. NOAA's websites all seem to be functioning normally except the data stopped posting everywhere at the same time. I believe the problem is in Boulder (the weed is too strong there! ;) I hope the US Air Force/Space Force has independent systems not reliant on SWPC.

Maybe the Dept. of Commerce is now sanctioning data. When I visited spaceweather websites in China or Russia in the past I was amazed to see them all using NOAA data sources........

The Rabbit-hole goes pretty deep and you paid for all of this.For instance I just discovered that the War Dept, (DoD) can calculate a nations GDP by using GOES satellite data showing how many electric lights are shining at night. Note: The faster stream in the NE is from a far side event.

An extremely long filament is stretching from mid-disk near the equator to far into the NE quadrant. It appears to me to be as long as one-third the sun's diameter....maybe even longer. It's entering into an Earth-facing position and bears watching.
