The Dark Tower Series from Steve King. Actually Charlie would have been a good call on that movie. Word is Ron Howard is going to be directing The Dark Tower Series if it makes it to the big screen. I hope that comes to fruition. Sad that only Constant Readers get to go to the Dark Tower.

Ok I'll bite on that. Who can actually pull off Roland? (Clint Eastwood back in the day would get my vote)

I just hope that the screenplay/screenwrite is close to the novels. It would be a shame to leave key elements out. I still cant comprehend the movies even begining to come close to the original work. But Im glad that the main-stream will now be forced to go to the Dark Tower.

I'm a big DT fan, I believe it's Kings masterwork, I love finding a DT short story in some forgotten collection by him and seeing how it fits into the mythos, Little Sisters of Eluria is my favourite.

I agree that it's going to be interesting, I would have been the first to say it would be 'unfilmable' but y'know, that's what they said about Lord of the Rings and that didn't come out too badly.

I hope they pull it off, it would be the most epic movie of the decade if it was done right, although I bet a trilogy would be better (again like LotR), it would give more room to tell the story properly.

All kidding aside, thanx for the update. I just got finished reading the first of the Journey Begins from the Graphic Novel Series. Of course its not King, but its new material on Roland and the days before the Gunslinger Novel begins.

Then you need to look for the next in line in the Graphic Novel Series. It the Little Sisters of Eluria. Im with you about how King always put a little bit of the DT into all of his major works. The Stand, Jeruselems and Salems Lot, The Talisman etc... I know you know what Im saying. I also had the same trepidations about the LotR and like you I was pleased with the outcome. I think a trilogy is a must, but I would like to see maybe 4 or more, with attention to detail being the key. Wolves of Calla, Wastelands would take up an entire move. Song of Susanah might could be incorporated into the Wolves of Calla, but man what a long storyline that would be. For sure the final Dark Tower would be 1 movies, with maybe some of Songs of Susanah brought into that storyline.

The Gunslinger and The Drawing of the Three should be 1 movie.
Wizard and Glass deserves 1 movie.

Who knows how Hollywood is going to treat this story for the ages. I just hope they realize that they have been entrusted with the DT and treat it with much respect. Gotta run for now Gunslinger. Dont forget the face of your father. Thanx for replying to my thread.
