If you add in the aftershocks this is the most powerful EQ event ever recorded.


Its very bad that this is not decreasing noticably, another large quake could hit (8+)

And Chile 2010.




For what, two years after Sumatra 9.1 there were 7.5-8.5 quakes all along the subduction zone as different segments broke too.

But, apparently the 8.8 in Chile may have been the northern half of the subduction zone finally breaking after the 1960 9.5 quake.

This could happen offshore Japan, too.

At this rate, it look sas if that island of Japan will just "disappear" in a few hours. Gone. Vanished. Submerged.

Within hours, 6:55 local Japanese time, it will begin.
