Prayer doesn't work as scientific studies have clearly shown.
We'd be better off sending them actual aid in the form of food and other materials and money. Aid that an invisible God obviously cannot provide.

If there is a God, or Gods, then it might.

The whole concept of praying to some omnipotent being for help is fatally flawed.

Think of it this way. If you saw a three year old girl drowning in a swimming pool, what would you do? Would you wait to see if she begged you for help or would you just jump in and save her?

Likewise, why would an omnipotent, benevolent being not do likewise? Why would it expect prayers/begging?

So, the conclusion is

I have never seen any evidence that prayer to any of the gods does any good, except occasionally for the self esteem of the person doing it. The god of the bible is a purely imaginary construct, so in an objective sense prayer has no effects in the real world.

When people say they are "praying for" I think a lot of the time they are speaking metaphorically and actually saying, they are holding hope and good wishes in their "heart", which if you are powerless to do anything else, is the minimum anyone should do.

This has all been prophesied!! in numerous texts. But the God of the Bible is without doubt the Sovereign of the Universe.

We had a Natural disaster which was then compounded by a Human created disaster.

So Hold on Folks I think for the first time (I'n really afraid) I have studied Prophesy for many years ..we are seeing prophesy being fulfilled and its all going according to what we have been warned about for 1000's of years

If the future can be seen, it means that it is all laid out, as if there is a plan. If this is so then everything is predestined. Do you agree?

Yes. Prayer helps. Mass prayer helps more. Focusing on happiness and love works wonders, and focusing on doom hurts. Why do you think there are so many doom doom doom people on here? Shills know this is true can you make the connection?. Thought creates.

Prayer helps only if it focuses and strengthens us and is coupled with action. I pray but not to the god of the bible. I pray to the divine within myself and others. If it doesn't help, it sure doesn't hurt. Then I go out and do something about it.

I tune out the noise and I do pray I dont know where it goes or if it's heard or anything I just do it anyways because it makes me feel better that I tried to do something.

It is no more effective than writing a letter to Santa Claus. They actually even did a controlled study on prayer at hospitals. Large prayer groups prayed at hospitals all day. There was no measured effect WHATSOEVER. It's bunk. Stop doing nothing and DONATE money to Red Cross. Definitely do not donate to xtian organizations as Japan needs more than bibles right now.

So that's why theres always bad stuff going on. Plus if this world was all good then there would be no point of life. It'd be like we're in Heaven. You tell me the purpose of life. As for God's prayers not working. Fate comes in. If God wills one's death, then death it is. You can't question it. If we all prayed for our loved ones to be alive, this world wouldn't go on. There would still be people living right now from billions of years ago. How people die (death is a part of life) is God's will. Remember, life is only temporary. Everything that you have now WILL FADE AWAY FOREVER.
