I suppose it would depend on the situation. But once it was confirmed. I’d be in there ASAP. With or without an invitation. |

BRIEF
User ID: 1293355 United States 03/16/2011 08:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you saw a three year old girl drowning in a swimming pool, would you wait for her to ask you for help before you jumped in to save her? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1269784Of course I am assuming that she is still able to call out for help. This is a serious question. I want to know what percentage of GLPers would wait for her to ask for help before taking action. You're asking the wrong moral question...Make it an adult male and a puppy and you can only save one...now watch the the lost souls answer... I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

You need to make a distinction between actually drowning and potentially drowning. If I saw a child with it's parent in a pool and if for some reason thought the child could drown because the parent wasn't watching, I'd yell at the parent to take the child from danger. I would not jump in. However, if I saw a child that didn't realize that they were in danger of drowning, and there was no parent or guardian there, I would jump in and remove the child from danger of drowning. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1269784 United States 03/16/2011 09:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is not a trick question, but I'll elaborate. You are the only person who can save her. No one else is around. Heck, it could be your own child. If you do not help her, as far as you can tell, she will drown. So, the question remains, do you wait for her to ask for help before you save her? |
