Anonymous Coward User ID: 1301478 Australia 03/17/2011 05:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, like I said yesterday....The window of new information is from 7pm-10pm Eastern. They wake up, and say 'oh fuck' it's waaaaaay worse than it was when we went to bed. Anybody notice that they don't even THINK of a back up plan until their current attempt has totally failed? It's fucking crazy. When this thing happened last week they should have immediately sent in HUGE generators, shipped in as much coolant as they could, STARTED the process of re-hooking up power. This should all have been started as soon as this emergency started. Quoting: RockhuffThe caveat here of course is that if this is all just a show, because they really can't stop it, then this exercise in down syndrome makes a little more sense. I really do wonder if they are just buying time to let the U.S. evacuate. They haven't done anything right up to this point. The international community couldn't possibly have any respect left for Japan. I know I don't (their government, not individual victims). So true, this post deserves a pin on its own. I agree. In all these updates they keep saying "sea water" being pumped in? No its not! there was certainly no water going to number 1 since monday. Its now been two full days at least since ANY water got put anywhere! Oh except the little run in with the choppers and trucks which we all know wont have changed anything. The basements of 1...4 are flooded with salt water. The radiation at the number 3 alone excludes anyone from doing ANY work hands on for ANY length of time. Its been a week now and those exposed fuel rods have melted well and truly, every 8 hours the situation grows tenfold in severity. That is, the fuel rods have been exponentialy heating up for maybe three full days. Water aint gonna fix this. |

I pray you're right. But with the luck they've been having, they'd get the electric pumps working -- just to be hit by another Earthquake & Tsunami. Besides, with the MASSIVE EXPLOSIONS from all of the Reactors, I can't see how it's possible that the Water Cooling Piping wouldn't be all busted to shit. The Concussion forces alone should have Ruptured every Internal and externally-exposed Pipe in the Plant used to pump water into the Reactors. . |
