some say, they are going to plug number 2 so they can use it to cool down and recover 1,3,4..

isn`t easier to plug 5 or 6 that are not damaged and send the power to 1,2,3,4 ???

I call bullshit on this whole POWERLINE HOOKED UP TO REACTOR #2 story. Temperatures are rising in the spent-fuel pools of the No. 5 and No. 6 reactors, [see [link to e.nikkei.com] despite being cooled with equipment powered by an emergency generator.

And if they've got, and are able to employ, emergency generators, they would have already hooked up REACTOR #2.

Well, like I said yesterday....The window of new information is from 7pm-10pm Eastern. They wake up, and say 'oh fuck' it's waaaaaay worse than it was when we went to bed. Anybody notice that they don't even THINK of a back up plan until their current attempt has totally failed? It's fucking crazy. When this thing happened last week they should have immediately sent in HUGE generators, shipped in as much coolant as they could, STARTED the process of re-hooking up power. This should all have been started as soon as this emergency started.

The caveat here of course is that if this is all just a show, because they really can't stop it, then this exercise in down syndrome makes a little more sense. I really do wonder if they are just buying time to let the U.S. evacuate. They haven't done anything right up to this point. The international community couldn't possibly have any respect left for Japan. I know I don't (their government, not individual victims).

Is 4 dangerous?

longer 4 rods exposed harder to solve more radiation .
efforts at 2 and 3 could take days. before 4 is even attempted

4 is dangerous, hell all of them are dangerous. One guy on CNN just said they arent even sure there is water there...
