Seems like the truth is that these houses just competed for the best illustrators. Don Bluth (Disney employee) for example, could draw AND dream. So I think Bluth and his sort of working class animators are way, way above Disney's sort of employer-of-artists.

But Disney was a great patron. And as a movie house, their people are great. I do love the Pirates movies, they are gems. And Ratatouille was brilliant as well.
