Just talked to Japan on Ham Radio
There's a contest going on and I still see Japanese people on the bands. I just talked to one and I'll paste the conversation. It was in a digital mode so it was just typed out. I'm protecting my callsign because my information can be retrieved with it.

I don't understand some of it. Are the Japanese being that misinformed that they are told it's not polluted?

This doesn't make sense. We are hearing about contaminated milk, food and water and they are telling the people that nothing is polluted. Sad times.

It doesn't make sense because you are listening to paranoid fear mongers who don't understand radiation, or if they do they are just trying to scare people or make money.

Radiation is bad, YES. Are we all going to die? NO! But one million died of cancer from Chernobyl in the past 25 years. YES! But that's less than 50,000 a year which means you have a greater chance of dying of the seasonal flu.

6,000 miles is an enormous difference when it comes to radiation (those effected by Chernobyl were much much closer), and the wind has been blowing most of the radiation out to sea.

But hey. Some fear monger will come on here and say I'm a shill or I'm the one that doesn't know what I am talking about. Whatever. I know the truth. And I live 60 miles north of Three Mile island. I was 4 when it happened. I was even born on a SAC AFB that had tons of nuclear bombs. I know about nukes and radiation, I heard about the stuff my whole life, and I'm telling you it doesn't make sense because you are listening to fear mongers.

When they say the food and water is contaminated it is, but not drop dead deadly like you think. They mean it has higher amounts than would be "normally" acceptable. Did you catch that? "NORMALLY ACCEPTABLE"... Think about that for a moment...

So, for the record, any other time it would be UNACCEPTABLE otherwise, right?
