Anonymous Coward User ID: 1299107 United States 03/23/2011 03:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | TRUE RADIATION LEVELS: Japan plant released half as many radioactive isotopes as Chernobyl Over a four-day period last week, Japan's crippled reactors released about half as much radioactive Cesium-137 as Chernobyl had nearly 25 years ago, scientists say.
Data gathered by a UN agency's global network of detectors — including four in Canada — indicate the Fukushima power plant emitted "about 50 per cent" of the Cesium-137 as Chernobyl and 20 per cent of that disaster's total emissions of Iodine-131, says an Austrian team at the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics in Vienna.
[ link to www.vancouversun.com] In a four day span -- it has released as much radioactive isotopes at Chernobyl did. Do the math; the consequences will be incalculable, and yet they tell us it will have no adverse health affects? That was just over a four day window before the other reactors failed. |

Why don't you? You quoted "Over a four-day period last week, Japan's crippled reactors released about half as much radioactive Cesium-137 as Chernobyl"
and your conclusion is: "In a four day span -- it has released as much radioactive isotopes at Chernobyl did."
See how you got that wrong???? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1308802So I accidentally leave out the word "half" within that sentence and you go instantly rabid on me? Stand down cujo! Look at the bloody thread title. The calculations are between March 12-15th. The conflicting reports are bamboozling everyone -- My point is, if in a four day period, BEFORE all 6 reactors failed, an outdated calculation shows half equivalent was released, how can they sit there with a straight face telling us there will be "No adverse affects." |

THIS IS NOW OFFICIALLY WORSE THAN CHERNOBYL. |

I don't know about you guys but this stuff kinda reminds me about the whole Nostradamus foresights and predictions.... the worlds water being undrinkable? ... the air unbreathable?????? hellooo even if thats a bunch of baloney its still a huge problem and if we all got together and MADE SOMETHING HAPPEN to fix these problems together we could probably come up with a great solution. Dividing up our intelligence is where failure is imminent if we could learn to work with multiple ideas and theories and not just one person who says how things are; we could accomplish exponentially better things for the world. its the simplest thing but no one wants to accept it. |
