big oil baby User ID: 1326606 United States 04/04/2011 04:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Corporate looting: Transocean execs get huge bonuses for "the best year in safety performance in our company's history" (CNN) -- Declaring 2010 "the best year in safety performance in our company's history," Transocean Ltd., owner of the Gulf of Mexico oil rig that exploded, killing 11 workers, has awarded its top executives hefty bonuses and raises, according to a recent filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. That includes a $200,000 salary increase for Transocean president and chief executive officer Steven L. Newman, whose base salary will increase from $900,000 to $1.1 million, according to the SEC report. Newman's bonus was $374,062, the report states. [ link to edition.cnn.com] Ford CEO Alan Mulally received a pay package worth $26.52 million in 2010, a 48 percent raise from the previous year, according to a Friday filing by the US auto company with the Securities and Exchange Commission. This is in addition to a stock bonus of $56.6 million the chief executive was awarded in March, bringing his total take for the year to more than $83 million. Executive Chairman Bill Ford Jr. also received a hefty raise to $26.46 million on top of a stock award of $42.2 million, for a total of nearly $69 million. [ link to www.wsws.org] |
