The left side of the teeter totter represents judgement, while the right side represents mercy. The middle represents moderation between the two - a perfect balance. Unless the Christian is consciously, carefully and diligently in balance by straddling the teeter totter on both sides and very close to its pivoting axis, that Christian is either going to be too judgmental or too wishy-washy. The pastor in question is too judgmental. His pride and self-righteousness has permitted him to slide down the teeter totter towards the judgmental end. But alas, a self-righteous person is never aware of being self-righteous and is not open to rebuke concerning it. All we can do is pray that God knocks some spiritual sense into him. |
