i think the 7.2 is a misreading of some kind on the japan site. if it were actually a 7.2, it would have registered much higher than a 4 on the Japanese Seismic Scale. what the graph listed OP linked, it is saying the 7.2 that it has in that time slot basically has the same strength as 5.4 that happened a little before:

^the quake above also registers as a 4 on the Japanese Seismic scale. the 7.2 is a mistake of some kind. food for thought i guess, believe it if you want.

please there was a thread on this already and it was shown not to be a 8.2 or 7.2. just look at the times of the quakes on other links.

No our 8.2 is a 5 on their scale especially since it was only 10KM in the ground.
