It's almost like the series 'Walking Dead' but instead of zombies, all the monsters are gang members with guns....it looks like you are a minority and need a way to get out before you end up on the casualty list. The streets look dead in the film, like a post apocolyptic earth, but at night the zombies come out to feed. It's the small places first....then it's the cities, then it's worldwide.

Zombies, Mad Max, Waterworld (sorry) and many more are actually predicting the state of what's to come.

my city is waaay worst than that, trust me.

Society is breaking down throughout the Western world. Once we abandoned the values that founded it the outcome was inevitable.

Some towns, boroughs, neighbourhoods and other will have pockets of self-policed citizens.


If the Police take that long to respond, then form your own local law enforcement. Who is going to stop you?! The Police, lol.

Seriously, there are tens of thousands of citizens. I'm sure people can divide the city into blocks of enforcement.

If everyone had a form of unifying communication, then call upon your self-built neighbourhood defence force.

I can see how this CAN work, however, one problem you would have to tackle is transportation. Most Americans are obligated to a car loan and insurance, our transportation system was built to accomodate companies who thrived during the industrial revolution (which is over). Eisenhower masterminded the Interstate system with Ford, Rockefeller, and oil tycoons. If your community came together and solved this problem as well, within, you may be making history.

avoid eye contact, dress in clothing that blends in and does not stand out, walk a bit faster and just get where you need to go (no scenery viewing), look down some but be watching all around you at all times, be aware of the people around you and their movement, be ready to react at a moments notice if you see someone trying to come at you, don't stop to talk to anyone, walk down busy streets and never side streets, park close to the doors of stores your going into even if it means you have to drive around=d the parking lot for a few, never carry a purse, always separate the money your planning to spend from the rest you carry so that no one is tempted to mug you when you flip out your cash to pay, always wear practical shoes when going out because you never know when you will need to run from a situation, always carry a weapon and know how to use it WELL whatever that weapon may be, if confronted NEVER act weak or scared. thats just off the top of my head. I'm sure there is much more i will think about after hitting post on this. it's like the wild kingdom out here and the weak will be eaten before sunrise

Look into Earthship style housing, and aquaponics, sounds random and obscure, I know, but I think the combination of the two would save even the most rundown communities.

and its not just me
i have kids and family that have always been there for me, so i would never leave them to try to survive here my themselves
my family an i were in a house explosion a few years ago and that took us all back down to square one
since then we have worked as one unit to survive
one does one thing while another does another
we bust our asses working what jobs we can get
and spend everything we make on bills and food
we work hard to survive and a savings account is a thing of the past
i think of this each time i read someone on a volcano thread say something like "why don't those people just move?"
it sounds way easier than it is to actually do

so we have accepted that this is where we live and learned to survive here the best we can and we constantly try to learn new survival methods. We do joke around with one another and say that at least when TSHTF we will be 5 steps ahead of everyone and will not miss the luxuries of modern life as much as most. In fact, a SHTF scenario would be welcomed at times, because then i would be able to go cut down that tree down the road and burn it in the fire place to keep warn, and not be stuck paying whatever the electric company decides to say we owe or loose heat.

i live in detroit and its pretty trashed. the roads can be horrible. i bought a car recently and the seller was from florida and told me to take good care of it. i thought to myself ya right this things about to get its shit kicked in no time. everywheres hood. its harder to make a left turn than buy crack. i do home moving and theres like bed bugs and shit in the nasty ass homes around here. you can see through houses pretty often cause they just got holes and shit. BUT you can go like 90 miles and hour down one of our many awesome freeways with almost no chance of being pulled over. and theres casinos legal weed and they start reselling alchahol at 6am sunday morning. ALSO everyones pretty fucking weird so its easy to not stand out if you yourself happen to be weird. ALSO we get some killer electronic music talent here. but mostly its a cold cold cold corner of an abandoned ghetto in hell. i mean our trees dont have leaves yet. fuck.

The people that were raking it in then in the US,...have expanded and gone world-wide and corporate now. They have been raking it in since Bush lied the country into false war. A war that now pays top dollar to depressed citizens like the ones living in NiN's town,... buying up souls and what/whomever it takes to get the job done. And the job is taking as many tax-dollars from tax-payers as possible. This nets these bastards and the talking heads in the "media" millions/billions/illusions.

They bought themselves a black guy to "lead" this time around.

LOL. also we just raised 40k to build a robocop in a park somewhere downtown. thats whats up. Michigan has alot of its own fresh food and farms you can even go live one and work. michigan has a couple local currencys so you can opt out of the reserve note to an extent. also not to many huricanes twisters earthquakes fires or floods. at least in the citys. so from a survivalist point of view its kinda legit. ok thats it from me. summer is finaly here in michigan its time to get bat shit hammered drunk and rave the fuck out untill fall
