lol, I have been trading silver for 20 years. I was buying it when it was $4 an oz. I was saying last week silver will be $25 within a year and here we have experts saying the same thing.

When ppl are CONVINCED price can only go higher... that´s a red flag!

A correction is possible.

It costs $10-15 to produce silver. There is a huge margin at $50 and thus an incentive to produce as much as possible. If industrial demand slows, prices might well correct. Speculation might then switch to the downside.

The current rise in the futures market is parabolic ... but physical silver is still in high demand. Until the price rises sufficiently to slow that high demand I don't look for anything more than temporary pullback.

Normally I would say, based upon the charts, that $50 is about it for now on the physical demand side and it needs to take a breather, but a blow off to the upside in "paper" silver can't be discounted yet.

The silver market has clearly entered a High Risk phase, where large moves can come about in either direction due to "Margin Call" issues.

The physical shortage in the silver supply at the SLV COMEX and market wide makes a paper crash impossible.

Gold on the otherhand is held by the central banks in the tons. At some point they can and will dump large amounts top destroy that market.

Silver will not be done until two key things happen:

1. Bust through the old record in a definitive way.

2. A truly big blow-off top. Go back and look at the fact that silver went up about 5 times faster than this the last time in the final phase. I expect something above $65 to be a fair target this year.

Max downside atthis point....im 32.00 bid for it all.
I believe that is the worst downside, and chances are we wont see it for the next few months.

OP, I agree, I think that people will soon realize the error of their ways and demand dollars over everything else. It only makes sense, I mean look how pretty that paper is.

Actually, you can in colloidal form. It has a nasty side effect of ridding the body of many bacteria and viruses - but it can be done ;)

There has never been a time in the last 20 years where conditions are what they are now.

This is uncharted territory.

The variables are:

1. High gas prices (unrest in middle east solidifies the prices) means economy on downturn for unforeseeable future.

2. Unemployment a near record levels (other catastrophes contributing like unrest, ongoing nuclear meltdown, 3-5 Billions in TORNADO damage in 7 states, war on 3 fronts, banks NOT lending, Debt ceiling being raised, TARP+ QEI + QEII, commodities skyrocketing, dollar falling to record lows, etc.)

3. Collapse of real estate market both consumer & commercial

4. Near record number on unemployment which has been EXTENDED to 99 weeks in some cases.

5. Food stamp use at ALL TIME HIGH.

6. Higher costs of transportation/production mean inflation WILL shortly set in.

7. WE are in Big TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA!

Looks like it would've been 2008, must be getting old. It was when the economy crashed and silver plummeted. I took the opportunity to pick some up because I knew it wouldn't stay that low for long.

Not for a long while. The IMF kept crying "we're dumping 400 tons of gold''. The bank of India bought it ALL. That shut them up and you know what else went up? GOLD GOLD GOLD like a mo fo.

Any other bank wants to make a dumb move like that in the midst of this current and foreseeable future world will have no problem selling its gold.

Well, the dollar could ressurect compared to the euro, because I think eu zone is will face another crisis, mainly Spain and Italy. Either way, silver will climb, with or without currency crisis. There's just not enough of it.
